Has anyone seen the price of Hot Rod? It's $200!!!!!! I ask you who on earth has $200 for a little plastic toy? I know in geekville this might seem normal considering the cost of alot of these superhero statues , but this is outrageous for a takara product. This should not cost anymore than $90!!

I'm waiting for the Hasbro version of Masterpiece Hot Rod. It won't have the trailer but it won't break the bank either.

Considering the engineering that went into it... I'll shell out the $200. You're sort of getting 2 robots in 1. Hot Rod & Rodimus Prime. The Masterpiece figures have always been $100 and up. I shelled out $200 for the Optimus Prime with trailer... well worth it. I believe I paid around $150 for Megatron. Considering these are the only Transformers I collect now... I consider them well worth it.

I pad just under $150 for Optimus with the trailer when it came out and the entire thing was huge. Optimus even has many diecast parts. Why should anyone pay $200 for a much smaller toy made completely of plastic? Did any less engineering go into Optimus or Starscream, etc? No. The price increase is ridiculous! I mean look at the cost of the alternators. I think I purchased Hound for like $20. The binaltech cost $40. What Takara is proposing is that you now pay 5 times the amount for a suped up Binaltech.

I'm assuming 7.5 inches and likely around the same height as Starscream. I pray Hasbro comes out with their own identical version. Hopefully that will be under $100.

Hmm... that's the only thing I didn't like about Starscream. He's too small. If he were 12"... would you feel the figure would be worth more?

Well you can't make starscream as tall as Optimus. It wouldn't be right, so I understand that. At least Takara didn't attempt to charge ppl $200 for him. Btw, how much was the original masterpiece Optimus without the trailer? Wasn't it something like $100? I'm surprised more ppl aren't complaining about this on the other forums.

Yes, it was roughly $100. Other forums are stating that price is the only thing holding them back from trying to get this toy. I'm still going to shell out the $200... it will hurt but it will feel good at the same time.

Hey guys, I just recently committed myself to buying the MP-04 Convoy with Perfect trailer edition, put the down payment and everything else down already.

I want to know if there is any significant difference between the MP-04 Prime and the MP-01 Prime (aside from the Trailer). I know Prime's blaster is GW grey in the MP-04 release but is there like any lesser die cast parts, transforming issues between the two Primes? I'd really like to know. I watched peaugh's review on Youtube but I think he was a little brief on the differences (if any)

Also, is the a snowball's chance of seeing an MP Soundwave?

Saw Banzaitron in my local Toys'r'us today. Very very tempted. But my budget is for MP-Prime.

I went to a decided transformers toy forum and no one complained about the price. Crazy. I'm afraid I'll just have to wait for the 70 dollar hasbro version, lol

Anyone been picking up the Generations line? I just bought Red Alert and Jazz.

Im sticking with just collecting the more G1 looking characters. Tracks, dirge, Wreck Gar, Scourge, and Wheeljack are next on my list. The others that are coming out are nice, but jus not G1 enough for me. They fit more with the War for Cybertron look, like Blurr and Kup, very g! inspired, but just not quit "there".

It seems, in my area, that the pegs will set empty or with the same old ones from 6 months past, then BAM. All the new ones will hit at once.

Im still trying to find Dirge.

The Targets near me always seem to have at least one Dirge. The only "Reveal the Shield" toy I've seen is Mindset.

I saw Jazz and Red Alert next to some old movie stuff. I like how they're revisiting the old g1 feel and suddenly I'm tempted to give Henkei Prime a look. Hopefully he'll still be compatible with the new Generations/United stuff.

Got Cybertronian Soundwave which rocks. Sadly, due to his design, feels a little flimsy and while the design has lots of homage to G! 'Wave, no Cassete-bots to go with him kind of sucks.

Love my MP Prime but you know how the longer you look at it, the more apparent the flaws are? Just noticed the chrome on my Prime's left smoke stack doesn't go all the way around. Kinda annoyed by that.

Guys, really need your opinion here:

Worth it? I'm thinking of amassing a G1-esque Autobot crew. Jazz, Red Alert and Grapple already have my attention but I'm not even going to consider collecting them unless I have a Prime to lead them. Is Henkei Prime really as good as people say? And will it be compatible with these new Bots?

My Autobots are led by my iGEAR Faith Leader. Yea, he's expensive, and a smaller Knock Off of the official Masterpiece Prime but he looks good with my classics. Henkei Prime has a cool vehicle mode but I hate how the doors, grill, and wind vane hang off him in robot mode.

He's about the same size as the Masterpiece Seekers.

Actually, the chunky look of Henkei Prime is a big draw for me. Gives him a more military Super-Robot feel. I also feel like bagging the Classics Powerglide. He looks great.

One of the main reasons I wan Henkei Convoy is how many Fansproject stuff is being made for him. I still hate the arm kibble though.

Fansproject can't be beat when it comes to making good Transformer toys into great ones. I would be all over their upgrade set for Rodimus if it weren't for the upcoming Masterpiece version.

Henkei Prime is a solid mold. I just think Optimus is one of those Transformers that should never have kibble.

Yeah. I've all but made up my mind about Henkei Prime/Convoy. To me, this is the definitive Generation 3 Optimus Prime. I might try to bargain down for him though if I'm considering getting the Powered Commander, G3 trailer sets.

Finally scratched that Henkei itch I've been having and I've got to say, it feels damn good. Henkei Prime is a sweet Transformer. I'm going to enjoy putting him in front of Red Alert, Jazz, "Sergeant" Kup and Grapple for my Autobot shelf.
