Trip Hop

I'm intrested in getting into this music but I don't know any artist. Can someone recommend some bands/singers?

I found a site but I'd really liked to hear from a few other people.

Massive Attack did one of the best songs I've ever heard and also one of the worst.
It looks like it's "touch-and-go" with these people.

I guess I've just never really regarded them as a full-on trip hop band. They mix elements of it into their music, sure, but I've never thought of them as a trip hop band. Artists like Tricky, DJ Krush, Morcheeba, DJ Shadow, Massive Attack...that stuff is really trip hop to me.

EDIT: Just looked at Portishead's Wikipedia page and it says they're a flat-out trip hop artist. It would appear I am in the minority on my opinion.

One of my friends in college told me about DJ Shadow.

I then cut class and went to the Disc Exchange and bought a copy of Endtroducing.
