Really hope they’re using the word reboot correctly and this doesn’t end up being a revival like with Dexter. Because those last few seasons... oof.

Shipka for Sookie. If my boy does that, I will definitely watch.

I watched True Blood, but it devolved into a mess fairly quickly. I can imagine someone like Roberto could having a lot of fun with it. The original series had it's moment, but it's a whole lot of wasted potential.

And that's a BINGO!

I could absolutely see Shipka as Sookie, but being HBO with it being an expected R rated series I'm not sure if she'd be open to such a role.

As for the original, I really liked it at the beginning, but the quality did slip with each season until it totally went to hell in the final season.

Same. I got through season three before I gave up. But it was HBO's biggest show in the years between The Sopranos and Game of Thrones, so I can see why they're going back to the well.

The last good season of the show was when they had the coven led by Fiona Shaw. Then it just got worse and worse.

I see I'm not the only one to go "But why?" Not in the sense that True Blood lacks appeal, but why reboot a series only a scant few years after it ended? Why not just do a continuation or a spinoff or a revival?

( Probable answer: "Because retelling the same Act 1 introductory story arc is easier" )

Meanwhile, I'm still dreaming about revival/remake of Rome and Carnivale. I know it's never happening, but a dream is a dream.

Aren't they all pissed at each other? Or the other three are pissed at Kim Cattrall? I don't remember the details but I know there's some behind the scenes drama that would make that unlikely since that was the reason they didn't do a third movie.

The only thing I could ever want from True Blood is a make up episode where Eric and Sookie end up together so I can really pretend nothing after season 4 happened.

Revivals/Reboots dont need to feature the original cast. Focus on a new set friends in present day NYC. The OGs can always cameo.

That was unexpected. I have fond memories of the first season but the original devolved into a mess pretty quickly. So I guess the potential to do better is there .

Yeah I am firmly in the this is ludicrous camp. I stopped watching the original series anyway nevermind watching a reboot.

There's no way they could get Lafayette and Eric as right as they did, so I assume this will be a "based on" reboot not a proper one.
