Obamas been accused of murder as well, and isn't responding to it (hell, he's been called a Muslim Manchurian candidate grown from a test lab, born and bred to bring the US down from the inside...). There's a difference from widespread personal attacks that get more news coverage than natural disasters, and disagreements with your political stance.

To balance it out tho, Clinton responded to Lewinsky despite it not being a policy issue. Bush bashed ppl plenty, just more slyly, and in round about ways.

His entire re-election campaign was built on personal attacks. He wouldn't have been re-elected without attacking Kerry's character. Heck, his buddy Karl Rove is saying that Obama will have to engage in the exact same tactics to get re-elected. What's the old saying? Takes one to know one.

I don't remember much of a re-election campaign....he didn't need to have much of one to get re-elected.

This is what I got when I googled...

http://www.seattlepi.com/national/article/Campaign-2004-Bush-lashes-out-at-Democrats-1137714.php

He called Kerry a "waffler"....lol

Bush did not have to do much verbally.....OTHERS did it for him, which is what I'm saying Obama should let happen in order to keep his hands clean.

This was a pretty interesting read...

Ya see, I'm not saying IT DIDN'T HAPPEN, I'm just stating that it was done without him getting in the dirt....THAT IS WHAT KARL ROVE is saying that Obama will have to do to win re-election...

AGAIN, I'm not saying that IT DID NOT HAPPEN.....what I am saying is, BUSH HIMSELF, did not have to verbally get dirty....it was done for him, THAT is what Karl Rove is saying Obama will have to do, BUT NOT DO IT HIMSELF.

BTW, I am VERY DOUBTFUL THAT BUSH HIMSELF, engineered the "swift boat" smear campaign.....THAT IS WHAT I'M SAYING, he didn't have to....HE STAYED OUT OF THAT...

Calm down with the caps lock. :oldrazz:

Just making an emphasis on the point.

Edit - Made this post too long, will just combine it with my lower comment, sorry. Too much talk for not such an important topic lol.

Do you know what I love even more than pot shots at a dinner? I love that Obama's biggest accomplishment in his presidency interrupted the climax of the Celebrity Apprentice. :lmao:

Posted this in the other thread. Absolutely freaking hilarious. :woot:

Here's a few quotes from a Bush quote website I found fast.

Bush said:
"I'll tell you what PAYGO means, when you're a senator from Massachusetts, when you're a colleague of Ted Kennedy, pay go means: You pay, and he goes ahead and spends."

"Only a liberal senator from Massachusetts would say that a 49 percent increase in funding for education was not enough."

"Senator Kerry assures us that he's the one to win a war he calls a mistake, an error, and a diversion. But you can't win a war if you don't believe in fighting."

"Senator Kerry has been in Washington long enough to take both sides on just about every issue."

"The thing that's wrong with the French is that they don't have a word for entrepreneur."

He called the (think it was Dem at the time) majority, "teenagers with credit cards". He insulted reporters, a blind one and radio one famously. Went off on Matt Laurer. Most of it tho was just side, sly comments. Like, "If you agree with the opposition you don't support America", or "tell our troops that, our allies that, you don't support America." stuff. Not necessarily all name calling, but hints towards a person. I don't think he was the king of insults, but not everything went thru Rove, and he was definitely not an angel either.

Anyway that's the last of it, this is the Trump thread, not the comedy stylings of Bush one, heh. I'm not saying that it makes Obama better by comparison. However I don't see what light hearted comments during whats become a generally light hearted dinner event are hurting considering so many more serious, and mean comments have been slung around by recent presidents at conferences.

All I know is Trump can't trump a bin Laden kill.
Just watch him try. :oldrazz:

Honestly Kel, you're a mod... act like it and stop being so immature. Trump shamed himself - this is undeniable. Obviously if you goad and irritate someone for over a year they will react accordingly. Trump has been saying some racist stuff against him and if you want your petty "video, print, audio" (much like trump demanding a certificate) firstly I have to say:

1. Who are you for me to waste my time catering to?
2. If you really need it, (and ask for it) I'll amuse you.

Kel is not being immature at all, in fact, the very point that you're claiming against her can be applied to our president. "You're the president, act like it, don't sink to Trump's level."

I think Obama will get a boost for re-election, now that Bin Laden is successfully killed. Trump is in no way right for president, he's just a arrogant spoiled rich brat that made one clever move to success. Besides that he's dumb and not qualified for politics. As Robert De Niro stated, he's like a car salesman.

Trump is a good many things, dumb isn't one of them.

Trump is never gonna live the Birther stuff down. For at least the next two years, everybody will be taking every chance they get to make "long-form" jokes vis a vis Trump.

No one can. Osama Bin Laden's death is HUGE!

Ever since 9/11/01, the capture and/or death of Osama Bin Laden was on just about every American's mind. There isn't another obsession that had preoccupied American's thoughts for the past decade that came near, not even the victory over Iraq or the execution of Saddan Hussein.

The thing is, Obama has people that can take care of this for him, and he can keep the Presidency clean of any of this silliness....but instead he chooses to wallow in it with Trump. Not a good choice for a President IMO. Obama does NOT have a thick skin of any kind....and he really needs to grow one. Releasing the long form is all that needed to be done, he did that, and it should have ended there.

Oh c'mon, Kel. It was the WHCD and Trump himself was there. It is the one night of the year the president can be joking and say what he really thinks in a punchline. The whole thing is an annual sideshow distraction. He was going to have to make some jokes and Donald Trump is in the room, the man who spent the last two months calling him a thief and his parents liars while also discriminating against Muslims.....you don't think it was the one time he could be a little snarky to Trump?

As for Obama having thin skin....eh. Sometimes he overreacts to criticism in the media, especially from the left. But considering until last week he didn't comment on how half the Republican Party for 3 years thinks he is an illegitimate usurper president who wasn't born here and his parents were evil people....he sure didn't come out feuding with a celebrity every other day on the issue.....unlike some people. I'm just saying.

The Republican Party doesn't think that....some think that he is a usurper.

I won't generalize his "thin skin" remarks, if you don't generalize how Republicans believe....

Trump didn’t crack a smile. That’s a big error in politics. Not a good choice for a President IMO.

Now Trump has offended the stutters after he claimed Adam Sandler was shuttering at the WH Correspondant Dinner. Yeah, smart decision.
