TV Movie

I would really love to see the CW stay in house when casting Jor-El and nab One Tree Hill's Paul Johansson. I'm sure something could be worked out so he can both OTH and anything Smallvville related.

Superman into a whiny, passive dead-beat dad stalker.

Harsh :down

While the movie isn't everything I wanted it to be, I don't think Superman was whiny. Of course he would be upset to see her with a new man and a kid (who he didn't know was his). Also, how could he be a dead beat dad if he didn't know it was his kid?

SV has taken liberties I don't like as well in the mythology of Supes. I wish Clark hadn't met Lois, Perry, the Olsen brothers, Lex... before even becoming Superman.

Yes but unlike SR, Smallville made it clear that it's an elseworlds tale that will change & twist the mythology, so if you don't like the show then it's not thier fault, thier just sticking with what they intended since season 1. SR claimed to be a quasi sequel to STM & S2 but failed in really making it feel like that.

Yea i feel that way too man of steel. Yes the show has made some silly changes to mythos but it was clear from day one this is a new take on the character using elements from the films/cartoons/comics from all eras and adding their own spin on things. Just like how it is for spectactular spider-man cartoon.

I like SV for what it is, it just comes up short in some areas (as did SR) I'm just saying it seems kind of harsh to go after SR for attempting to add another element to the story. I'm not completely happy with SR or SV :-/ I think they should have just modeled live action Supes after TAS. Oh well.

The only part of Superman Returns which I felt was truly Superman. Was the Airplane rescue scene. If they did an origin movie. That scene would have been a perfect way to introduce Supes to the world.

the airplane rescue scene is the only scene I watch whenever I see SR. Also, the opening credits is great too.

I really liked Superman Returns. But at this point I'd much rather see a big screen "Smallville" movie than a sequel or another version of the orgin story.
