A Supergirl series might work. I even got the perfect title:

SUPERGIRL: THE TEEN OF STEEL

or

SUPERGIRL: TEEN OF STEEL

Staring this girl? :

Um no. I like Kayley but no. Lets just stick with Laura depending on how her acting is.

If handled well enough it has potential.

As for the Superman hang up, if they have him appear for a few episodes it's nothing particularly new. Just extends the SMALLVILLE universe, just focusing on Kara instead of Clark.

Yeah she goes to my school in Toronto; in my program.

She'll be alright in the role; the question is how bad the writers will bastardize the character.

I have a feeling her purpose on that show is T+A.
Just like all of Smallville's other actresses who aren't playing Martha Kent.

I'd like to see one... but I doubt it would ever happen

Why is it that whenever a DC Comics hero guest star on Smallville, there's immediate talk of a spin off? Smallville has been running on fumes for at least the last 2 seasons and a Supergirl show under G+M will just be more of the same as Smallville, just with a girl instead of a guy in the lead role.

Yeah, at least the other suspected spin-offs were supposed to tackle more interesting material. A Supergirl series would literally be Smallville all over again with a girl instead of a guy as the lead.

A Supergirl tv series would have been infinately easier to write than Smallville. Her canon is not set in stone like it is for Superman and there is plenty of room for creativity. What's more interesting than a fish out of water? They can even power her down dramatically so she isn't all powerful. However all of this would have required an once of brain cells which Gough and Millar don't have. These two buffoons had originally wanted an imbecilic young Bruce Wayne tv series.

I don't think she could hold her own series but she could fit in the superman role with those justice teens.

they are in need of a female member and having her fill clark's role means that they don't have to get things messed up with smallville and clark.

supergirl, flash, green arrow, cyborg, aquaman

it'd be a pretty nice lineup

i could quite easily watch a show like that.

If the last few years of DC's comics are any indication, Superman's backstory is far from set in stone. :o

Also, if DC were going to make a new TV series, I'd want them to stay as far away from Millar and Gough as possible. Heroes has proven that a TV series with superheroes at its epicenter can thrive in the competitive network primetime spots. Hopefully DC and Warner Bros. learn from that and finally put out a show that's not embarrassed to be about a superhero.

a show about characters with powers is certainly different than a superhero show in my eyes.

especially if they already don't have this pre-conceived perception of them from coming from another media form with an already established fan base.

No. Please no. Why does this need to be brought up whenever there is someone guest starring on Smallville?
