*sigh* I'm just feeling a little melancholy right now. I guess my attentive concern for someone I have a great fondness for has been mistranslated as paranoid fear that they're going to self destruct. My worry for those I care about all goes back to when my dad passed away. I have developed a sort of complex because of it. In short my dad was not doing what his doctor told him and was eating foods that reacted badly with the medicine he was taking for his high blood pressure which caused his massive cerebral hemorrhaging that killed him. The complex I have comes not from the fact that my dad passed away because of his own neglect but that I feel like I personally didn't do enough to remind him of what his doctor said, hence why I have been aggressively attentive when I feel like something's amiss. I know the comments were said in jest but it stings me just a little bit because I'm not trying to be a pain or crazy paranoid. I just don't want to lose anyone and not feel like I didn't do enough to help them.

you can't help anyone not willing to help themselves. don't give yourself added grief worrying about everyone else and all of their nuances and issues.
