Two New York cops shot dead, execution style

Another one just got killed in Florida.

I knew this was going to happen. And then shortly after that, it's going to go from a "police state" (not that we really had it) to a full blown militarized state. I won't be surprised by the time summer comes around, Martial Law will be implemented in many of the big citites. Someone wants the people to go after the cops, and well, they got what they want. It's a bit of a double edged sword here.

To me its just very sad . Officers as well as people like Eric Gardner are our brothers, sisters, and children. They are all part of the community and shouldn't be treated as the other . As long as the conversion is framed in Black Lives vs Police Lives , you automatically set up sides and make finding any sort of common ground impossible. One of the biggest problems is that both sides don't seem to view each other as being part of the same community and alot of times they aren't part of the same community. To me its just sad that it has to be an either or proposition. It seems to me you can love and respect the people who put on a uniform while at the same time loving and respecting people like Eric Gardner .

The "people" cheering or applauding this are the sickest sons of b**ches on the planet.

That part in particular is sickening. It reminds me of what happened to our soldiers in Somalia in 93. It's barbaric! Or what happens with that Fred Phelps church and what he and his clan would do to soldier funerals. They had to make a law that you couldn't protest a certain amount of feet from a funeral because of this guy.

So this is how we get the sympathy from white people in this day and age? If I was a freedom fighter from the Civil Rights Era I would be ashamed of this on behalf of my ethnicity. These loathesome criminals don't deserve to call themselves the inheritors of the legacies of people like Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King Jr.

We can thank these animals when martial law is declared and cops can shoot anyone for any reason without due process. I spit on them.

You know who else is Hispanic?

George Zimmerman. :o

What……. what does that have to do with…. anything?

Wow. I thought I had seen bad straw-man arguments before, but that has to take the cake for just being bizarre and out of nowhere….. and just an all-around terrible, awful reply. What are you even saying? Does that mean all Hispanics are racist? Or that this cop had it coming?

You know who else was Asian? Chairman Mao.

What's your ****ing point?!

LOL. No one wants white sympathy.

I don't want to get bit by a police dog or firehosed every time a law needs to be changed.

If people think this is going to lead to martial law, haven't been paying attention to what has been happening for the past decade. The state has been militarized for a while. Just look at the Boston Bombing pursuit.

That's the point I tried to make in here and another thread....you stop racism and racist acts when you accept NO racism or racist act as acceptable....not just the ones that effect you personally.

I just saw on facebook that some people think that the cops are behind the killing. WTF? Are they serious?

I can't see how Boston Bombing was a Martial Law situation. Can you link me to some vids? When I talk of martial law, I am talking about the disband of the police force, which are still civilian workers, and then to covert all justice/policing issues to the military and away from civilian hands.

Wow…. First justifying one of the cop's murders because zomg Zimmerman was Hispanic too! And now you say they had it coming? You are just a scumbag.

Sorry, but you are. I'm going to have nothing else to do with you on the Hype!

Hold on there,partner...i'm pretty sure he was just joking

At least, i hope he was

I think he was being sarcastic. I hope he was.

If he's joking, I take it all back. And of course, I'd apologize.

But if he was, he has to be a bit more obvious with his sarcasm. I've seen too many similar sentiments on my FB today.

The police are already equipped with military grade weapons. That's what I'm talking about. The line is blurring already.

This solves nothing at all. My best friend's brother is a cop and my other friend's brother is a cop as well. I'm kind of worried for their safety. What happened to Eric Garner was tragic and the cop that did that to him has to live with that the rest of his life. He should be thrown in jail. I was worried this would eventually happen and I hope this doesn't spawn and other crazy copycats.

This situation is already circling the drain. When the cops turned their backs on the mayor( which looked pretty awesome), that was it. The news talked about how the prosecutor in the grand jury has to work with the cops and can't simultaneously prosecute them, too, if he wants to stay on good terms.

This has turned from holding cops accountable for fatal decisions to "you're either with us or against us."

Here's the thing, the majority of people out there, are ****ing stupid. They do stupid and disgusting things like this when they get pissed off. Plain and simple. There's nothing that can excuse or justify any of this. Now, that being said, what do people think is going to happen with such an incredible amount of police brutality stories popping up every day, every where, in this country? I'm genuinely asking a question. What do people expect to happen? People are stupid, a person is smart, people are stupid and they do stupid stuff. A LOT of people are seriously enraged right now, and understandably so. It still doesn't justify any violence towards anybody. I just want to know what people expect out of people given the current climate surrounding law enforcement. I think a lot of people are giving too many people too much damn credit. People get pissed off enough they do **** like this.

Isn't the reverse true? Black and Brown mistrust of police didn't come from some singular bad cop or a few scattered incidents.

Immigrants fearful speaking up in criminal cases isn't because of one incident.

Michael Brown being disrespectful to the police officer wasn't just because he was an a-hole.

Someone brought up Zimmerman, yeah he's apart of this to. A wannabe-cop thinks he has the right to confront a young man walking down the street just because he doesn't recognize him? Where's his authority?

If their were a certain way of acting or walking that people would leave you alone then minorities would do it, but all these cases emphasize what has been frustrating these communities, we're all just alike to many people. Smoking weed or not, sagging pants or not.

When the cops **** up, I expect our law system to prosecute them, but this ain't the case in most incidents. Damn shame.

This loon was going to explode sooner or later.

The ppl cheering on this tragedy are ****.

I posted this in another thread, but thought I'd post it here as well:

Pat Lynch, Chief of the New York Police Union, Blames Protesters and Mayor
"There's blood on many hands tonight," NYC Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association president Pat Lynch said Saturday night, ratcheting up already frigid tensions between City Hall and One Police Plaza.

Lynch blamed those who "incited violence on the street under the guise of protest," -- a reference to the swell of demonstrations in New York City and across the U.S. in the wake of a grand jury decision to not indict a New York police officer for killing an unarmed black man, Eric Garner, earlier this fall.

Lynch then went after Mayor de Blasio: "That blood on the hands starts on the steps of City Hall, in the office of the mayor." He went on to praise the fallen officers, and said that those responsible for the killing will be held responsible.

Thank you, Mr. Jackson!!!!:woot::woot::woot::woot:

Yeah, it's not like years of systematic abuse by the police against black people in any way affected the climate in New York City. Nope, it's all the mayor's fault.

Lynch has been waiting for this, too. He went the disgusting route of trying to use police funerals as a political football against the mayor. A few weeks ago, he was mounting a campaign to ban Mayor de Blasio from going to the funerals of police officers.

I know Mayor de Blasio wasn't the NYPD's choice for mayor, one of the things he ran his mayoral campaign on was against the stupid "stop, frisk, and search" mandate. But, Lynch seems like he's trying to incite something. Even his quote about holding those responsible for this, even though the killer is already dead, seemed like some veiled threat against the mayor and New York citizens. It's really odd.

And...I think it's going to make things worse.
