Simple question: which DTV was better of Ultimate Avenngers.

Both were painfully horrible, the only saving grace at all between the two would be the bonus features which included a decent gag-bloopers reel (anyone want ribs?) and trailers for the Iron Man movie (which, while still not that good a movie, was far better then these two)

The first one was better, simply for the Hulk beatdown.

 I really liked the second one better. The action was more intense, we got deeper into the characters, the story was tighter. All it needed was more Hulk. :hulk:

The second at least had the common sense not to bastardize the first volume of Ultimates. Plus the story was just better despite the fact that it was basically the same story plus Were T'Challa.

The first UA, definately. It had better action, more Hulk, Millar/Hitch homages, and a more theatrical feel. UA 2, while not as bad as some people think, suffered greatly from 100% deviation from the comic, especially in the action dept. They couldn't pace a fight worth a damn without at least a Millar/Hitch bit to start off like with Hulk. Plus, while Black Panther was cool, seen one jungle, seen 'em all.

Thor got more airtime in UA 2, but I still like the first better. Every time.

IMO, INVINCIBLE IRON MAN was actually more mediocre to me than UA 2, and THE AMAZING SCREW ON HEAD blew them both out of the water despite being maybe 1/4th the length (I bought the DVD last night; hilarious!).

UA was better. The characters were handled better, and I liked watching Cap continue to get beat by Hulk, but proceed to come back for more every time. Cap is the man!

I know this is a bit off topic but, is the second trade for Ultimates 2 out yet? I finished the first and it left me begging for more. Damn cliffhanger endings. :(

Call me old-fashioned, but I really wasn't ready for a straight adaptation of The Ultimates. UA is kind of halfway between Ultimates and the classic comics that we're used to seeing in animated form. But before UA, I had never seen a WWII battle depicted in animation, not to mention the heroes acting rudely or self-centered without it seeming contrived (plus, Tony's obviously not drinking lemonade).

The comics of course took all of those further, but still, it was refreshing for me to see them in UA, and I didn't mind so much that they were toned down.

easily the 1st one. best part of the second one was the intro. dunno what marvel's game plan is but if they don't get with the program i'm out and taking my peeps with me...

I thought Ultimate Avengers was significanty better than its sequel.
