Ultimate Fantastic Four Discussion

Yeah, I don't much care for alien stories either. The only reason I'M reading this arc is because of Thanos and Ronan.

I haven't been able to pick up UFF since this new creative team took over and I don't particularly like what you guys are saying about it lol. does anybody actually like the book now?

the only reason I'm getting this arc is cause I'm a completionist, and have everything Ultimate (even Ultimate Adeventures)...and cause I'm hoping Thanos will be cool...

so what does everyone think of the current arc so far.

Not loving it, that's for sure. Very difficult to tell who's who really and what they all mean and can do - I think I'm going to have to get the last three issues out the drawer again and read em one after the other just to get a clearer picture. Cos each issue was so "meh" that when the next one came out, I had forgotten what happened and the summary didnt really tell me squat. Dreamcatcher for instance seems to be able to do anything - tesseract doesnt appear to be the crucial figure he's made out to be. And the Thanos ressurrection made sense until he started just jumping from body to body (okay, only two so far - but he came back fully as himself, but then when next we see him he's taking over the shell of a sergeant or something, then Ben). And the ink work is half arsed in that some lines are inked, and others are left untouched (much like the Sentry standalone issue of New Avengers recently) - so the art seems really unimpressive to me.

I feel that way about UXM, Ultimates, and UFF(I buy trades) but from what you guys are saying, the book is in a slump of epic proportions. I want to see Ultimate Thanos too. :(

Although UFF is pretty damn good right now... although it's wrote by Mice Carey... so that's the answer for it's awesomeness.

What do you like about it? Everybody else has been complaining about the new creative team.

They suck. How long are these people going to **** on the book? When does their arc end?

Seems like its a bit weak. I hope that Thanos kicks some ace or something...its really starting to tick me off how weak this UFF is becoming. Give us some goodness...PLEASE!!

God war is the worst arc since think tank... its trying to hard to be intelligent. i hate that about fantastic four sometimes. the comics get too complicated and you lose interest in trying to understand them. God War has kinda ruined Thanos and Ronan for me...too complex. Its trying to hard. Give them new costumes and get them in crazy fights and im alllllllllll set.

anyways the art doesnt make up for the stupid plot.

hahaha that reminds me i was reading the latest issue and they tried to throw some cliffhanger like "but who is torturing the people?!?!" and i was like ha, i really dont care...

btw thats how bad it is

Add to that "new personalities" and you've just written the perfect formula for what the Ultimate Universe should be.

Anyone miss millar as much as me, and land sure he just copyed stuff but that sure was some good pretty copying.

Please tell me you checked out Millar's UF4.

That was the finest FF in years.

Oh, I've read everything leading up to God War. The book is one of my faves, but I hear this new creative team is putting peopel to sleep. When are they leaving anyway?

I've recently got into the Ultimate Marvel universe starting with Ultimates and I'm interested in getting some UFF trades. Which arcs are the best? How do you guys compare UFF to Ult. Spidey and X-Men (both of which I like)?

Overall, I'd say UFF>UXM>USM

UXM and UFF are in major slumps right now and I haven't read much of USM lately.
