Ultimate Fantastic Four Discussion

Doom's legs are probably something to do with continuing development on his part - like he was still changing when we first saw him.

BUT... if you look when he's introduced in the latest issue, there are some minions bringing over what looks like his shin plate for his armour. Now if he's all metal like he appears to be then he wouldnt need the armour shin guard. But if he still has goat legs and thinks it dehumanises him a bit in front of his people, then he may have some armour that snaps on around his goat legs to give the appearance of normal legs.

Or of course the goat legs could be a retcon (like beast no longer has reverse knee joints in most depictions like he did during Quitely's run)

Weird thing about the Atlantis thing. They said that Namor wasnt a prince but a criminal right? The worst one Atlantis had. So why let him go completely (as opposed to letting him go and formulating a way to bring him in in the meantime) and how is it that he can be contacted to help Johnny so easily? His distaste for monkey people should make him a threat to humanity really.

I can deal with that. Makes sense. If I were Reed I'd cry too...having "goat legs" and all........

And knowing that Doom is gonna be doing Sue........

Course, Doom has left the smartest guy in the UMU (I still believe that - Doom just thinks he is smarter than Reed; but if he was before the accident, then clearly he doesnt know about Reed's mind expanding like his body - though Sue's mum was the one that pointed it out) with the finances and technology of Latveria! You dont leave a guy like Reed in a library of books like that after you've swapped minds with him! Sucker!

I think doom will find that he can't control Reed's stretching powers. He's had no practice. In the heat of battle, he'll get hurt.

Too true, Reed sure does have a lot of dangerous reading material at his disposal.

No way!! I thought it was one of the most ingenious escapes I'd ever seen. Took me by surprise as well. That was so cool.

Still, when your zombie enemy in an impenetrable prison appears to teleport out (after claiming that's what the pen would do), you dont run in to check if it worked. If it didnt, then they're stuck in there anyways. If it might have worked, you just sound the alarm to begin tracking them outside the prison. Bit of a McGuffin for me as the militarys response to them apparently disappearing (when one of em has the power to disappear) was the dumbest plan since JFK said "Its a nice day today gerald, lets have the top down shall we"

The escape took me by surprise, thats for sure, the Frightfull Four have been anouncing it for so long, and read such a dumb plan ¡that actually worked! took me by surprise, but it was cool, hehe

This is actually the first time since reading the UFF that I'm actually looking forward to the next issue....

That has been the best writing so far, I agree....but the UFF is just sooooo far from what I think when I think of the F4 it's just kind of hard to get into......BUT I'M TRYING......:)

No sweat albafan. I've been reading enough that it's easily separable from 616. It's just fun. Remember that.

I'll be sorry to see Land go. He was a refreshing change for Sue. He finally got her superhot. As well she should be in the Ultimate universe. I can see some of the younger gals in the 616 being a bit more nubile, but this is the Ultimate verse.

She better be the finest mare in the Marvel stable in that setting.

:D

In that analogy, I think filly would be more appropriate since mares are pretty much the term used at the breeding farms while the fillies are at racing age in the Thoroughbred racing world :) As for Land, sometimes his stuff looks like it relies heavily on Photoshop for some of the faces at least. I am glad that his rendering of Doom doesn't include goat hooves!

But so far I haven't seen anyone make note of the fact that Reed was heard to be crying (?) at the end? I know the UFF tracks younger than the 616 version but somehow that just seemed out of character.

Reed is the weakest link in the UFF in my opinion. He looks like he's about 12, so crying is surprising...:o

We already saw Reed in Doom's body crying, and lets not forget when Jhonny made Ben cry to, the strongest one is jhonny i think, and then Sue.

in case anyone wants them heres the covers for the upcoming issues.

Heh. Filly would be better. Heh.

As for Reed crying. I think that considering his upbringing. Emotionally abusive father. Over protective mother. Then getting whisked away to Hogwarts and not seeing his family at all. I think that crying is not completely unheard of.

And besides, you prolly are letting 616 Reed influence you. This Reed could turn out to be the worst human being we ever met and it wouldn't suprise me.

Just don't screw with 616 Reed.
