I'm curious about him, and would like to know everything there is to know about the Ultimate version of SS. If someon would be so kind as to educate me (and include as many pictures as possible), I'd be grateful.

Eh...sounds kind of wierd. Not so sure if I like that story so much.

Ultimate Silver Surger and Gah-Lak-Tus (oooh, edgy) ruined the entire Ultimate Universe for me.

What the hell were they thinking? This is why remakes generally suck.

I refuse to speak on the total rape of one of my all time favorite characters.

he looked cool, at least, but that's it

Pfft! He looked alright but that's literally the only thing worth mentioning. Now I enjoy the Ultimate universe for it's 'outside the box' incarnations but this was just horrible for me. I'm sure that's simply because I was a fan of the character but still.

From Wikipedia:

"The silver beings have been sent to the Earth by Gah Lak Tus to start mass suicides, in order to reduce the population's resistance and allow Gah Lak Tus to conserve energy to exterminate and break down the planet into useful energy. Suicide cults founded by the creatures appear all across the world as Gah Lak Tus draws near, with the intent of engineering mass suicides to placate 'the angry god'."

...wow...I didn't know what Ultimate Silver Surfer was about...but now I do and that is just terrible.

Yea, a bunch of henchmen that got pwned by Captain America, Captain Marvel, and Iron Man.

It's sad when you think about the true potential of an "Ultimate Silver Surfer," or an "Ultimate Galactus."

They dropped the ball on that one so much it's not even funny.

How does that 'start msss suicides' thing make sense?

"Oh no! Flying chrome men!" *hangs self*

!?

Someone explain it. Please, I haven't read it and it'll bother me for months.

The surfer/s appeared on Earth month's in advance creating cults all over the place (by adapting his board to look like wings to make him look angelic or something...) and after preaching the coming of Gah-Crap-Tus was to apparently encourage his followers to kill themselves en masse shortly before the swarm of techno bugs arrived.

Oh yeah...Ultimate SS has a serious multiple set of teeth on him too (don't ask me why...).

All in all, the story (at least before I couldn't be arsed to finish reading it properly) was pretty damn awful.

Eh most people don't give the chance for potential. They just blast.

I was really into it up until that last issue that just felt rushed as hell. Gah-Lak-Tus was a scary bastard. Reed's demonstration alone did it for me. Good fights too.

As far as I'm concerned we haven't seen Ultimate Silver Surfer yet (just like how we have 2 Ultimate Visions for some reason). I'm sure at least one of these guys is still around and went rogue or something.

Hmmm...Ultimate Silver Surfer seems more intresting to me then 616....well that bar isn't really set high to begin with though. Is Ultimate Surfer as emo as 616 Surfer?

People shouldn't refrain from blasting a story because the concept behind it only might have potential down the line, they should post an honest opinion on that story as they have seen it now and if they think that is crap then they should say so (just as they should say so if they happened to like it too). I mean, It's not like our judgements are based on early drafts or solicits or anything like that: We have seen the published books with these Ultimate versions of SS and Galactus and for many readers they flat-out sucked.

Now whether the writers can make a much better story with SS and Gah-Lak-Tus down the line and fulfill any possible potential there might be remains to be seen, but as it stands the Ultimate concept of SS and Galactus has been and remains bloody awful (imo).

Wowzer, I'm just realizing there's an Ultimate Silver Surfer by reading this thread. :(

Ultimate SS is more like a flying T-1000 (the silver guy from T-2). Galactus shot a silver projectile that formed SS on a surf board. Then he shape shifted to have a bunch of rows of teeth. And that was the only cool thing that happened in 3 crappy arcs. :csad:

we dont have 2 Ultimate Vision's...there was Ultimate Vision, the "herald" of Gah-Lak-Tus, and then the Vision robots which Hank Pym based off of it
