Season 2 is already moving forward.

For real? I mean this show has not been nearly as bad as I thought it would be, but only 3 episodes have aired and they green light a second season? Where were these executives when Spectacular was on the air?

Spectacular was actually bumped up to 26 back when 13 episode seasons were the standard. So, if SSM would have been created today, we could have had 52 episodes easily.

green lantern
justice league
avengers

all serious takes with a complex arc which threads the episodes together and look what we get for spider-man, one of the most iconic superheroes on the planet.

Hey guys newbie here, I really dig ultimate spiderman It may be off from the comics but you know what, its entertaining. Also cheers for fight scenes imo this one has It all kid friendly but yet still appeals to adults < which will go a long way, action, spidey comedy and a updated flavor not to mention a chance for other hero cameos, personaly looking foward to seeing what they dish out.

Well I enjoyed it. Not much else to say. I laughed. I enjoy watching this line-up of kids beat the crap out of people and make their incredibly stupid mistakes. I can't even pretend not to like it. It's fun to watch on a Sunday morning and, I don't know if it's just a bad start to season 2 or what, I'm actually enjoying this a little more than Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

You're not alone in that sentiment judging by other boards, twitter etc. To each his own. I actually like Ock's design in this....

Spectacular seems to be the favorite among fans on this site, but for me the 90's series is my favorite. Not on the level of Spectacular overall, but I love the voice work. Even reading issues today I hear Christopher Daniel Barnes. The Green Gobliin in Spectacular was FAR from perfect with Blum's characterization. And Kraven was horrible.

I've been on vacation, so I didn't see the first episode until today. Personally, I enjoy the light-hearted take on Spidey. He also had some good quips which is a plus, cause his quips are one of the things I like best about him.

anybody have a link to where i can watch episode 3

Also I'm loving Coulson on the show. I hope to god he makes it to the regular comics. I think this would be the first successful reverse transition of a character between comics and movies. I specify movies because Harley Quinn and Renee Montoya set the precedent for animated series to comics.

For anyone hasn't been listening to Paul Dini's podcast, season 2 will have origin episodes for the team and as season 1 progresses, things will get a little more darker/mature.

Sad thing. TMNT 2k3 series has nicely over 13 episodes a season, why not TSSM?

The show is not TERRIBLE, but its no where near Spectacular Spiderman. It seems kind of like Marvel's attempt at a "Batman Brave and Bold". Maybe they'll be able to balance the humor and better storytelling as the series progresses. I'll probably still watch it, but its not something I'm overly passionate about like say, Avengers:EMH, Spectacular Spiderman or Batman:TAS.

Aloha,
I was just looking at a TV program about comic book companies going into the tv and movie biz. Stan Lee talked about how he wanted to do a Spidey cartoon more in line with the comic but the TV people had a certain demographic that they knew watched that kind of programming and so that's why we got Amazing Friends and Ms. Lion(the dog).I like this cartoon for what it is -ie. Ultimate Spider-Man which means I throw out any expectations of the Lee/Ditko/Romita era and look at it with fresh eyes. Remember, this is Disney XD-they know whose watching their cartoons.This is Ultimate Spider-Man and his Amazing friends. At some point the continuity of the Av-EMH and US-M will converge.As a stock holder one of the reasons I voted to have Marvel sell to Disney is because I can see the day when most of the Marvel Universe appears in cartoons. Disney is the best place to make that happen.I dream of a full length Spidey animated film :word:
Spidey rules

episode 3 was really funny but also the group learned an important lesson of team work and Coulson is just brilliant . the action was great with Doom and his doombots .

still don't think this series is a patch on SSM but I will admit the epsiode 3 made me laugh a few times.

folks!

if you dont like this show, let the show runners know, so they can make season better (since they just started working on it).

I persoanlly sent them tweets telling them how i feel abt the show.

Their twitter accounts are:

@Marvel
@BRIANMBENDIS
@Paul_Dini
@JoeQuesada

We live in a world where we can let our voices heard, so lets use that. the more people tell the show runners what we hate about this show (in my case: too many jokes, complete lack of drama) the more chances we have, that they will fix it for the next season, as Paul Dini himslef said, that season 2 will be built depending on how people react to the show.

So go for it and take a stand!

I definitely think they'll take some things into consideration for season 2.

Yeah. It's a light-hearted take, but I love it.
Something new for Spidey, but in my opinion, it works and still is in tone with the character.
It still keeps some of his core elements intact.
Yeah, it's changed a few things, but it's working for me (of the first 2 episodes I've seen).

Finding it enjoyable so far but have my misgivings. Putting him on a team, de-aging established to justify them being on said team, all the SHIELD tech-it's like they're going for Marvel's version of Young Justice.
Not sure how I feel about the "Scrubs" cutaways, either.

Show is cool, not great but when I watch it, I just keep Joe Q's words in mind: Let's make a show for kids. That's what it is, a kids show so while I can find some enjoyment in it, I realize it's not for me. I love Spidey's character and the animation and even the humor works for me at times but obviously I'd prefer a serious take but again, that's not what Marvel wanted..things are cyclical so hopefully the next series that comes along is aimed at everyone of all ages
