Comics Um *he's* back... but NOT in a good way at all...

toxin isnt more powerful then venom or carnage..it has to do with the host.. not the symbiote.

Uhm, I'm behind, what is "The Iniative," and why are so many villains AND heroes (especially those who sided against him like HT, BC, etc.) behind Iron Man, now?

How the hell could he be more powerful than both of them combined?! Was he imbued witht he power cosmic or something?!

This is why I think the symbiotes should have stopped after Carnage....or Venom. After awhile, they get so powerful, you have to ask, "why are they fighting Spider-Man? Why not take over the planet?"
LOL... exactly.

But I'm not making this stuff up. http://www.marvel.com/universe/Toxin

ok, the morons at marvel got it wrong. based on the insanity level, the symbiote reacts to that. this was explained in an earlier marvel breakdown of carnage venom and the others. the only explanation as to why they offer this reasoning behind toxin, is after his debut in V vs C, where we beat them up AFTER they teamed up and AFTER BC didnt know carnage even existed. stupid crap.

I haven't read anything with Toxin in it, but I just LOVE carnage.

Carnage = #1.

Whatre you talking about? Venom is stronger than spider-man because the symbiote absorbed Spider-Man's power and melded with brocks base body building strength.

Carnage is stronger than them both because the spawn born from Venom's symbiote is a meld of Venom and Spider Man's powers.

Toxin is the spawn of Carnage's symbiote. Add accordingly.

I didn't read FF but I thought Ben and Johnny sided against Registration? And BC would side on whatever side Spidey is on too though.

I thought she sided on any side that paid? She's in heroes for hire for that reason.

The one I'm really surprised to see there is SleepWalker!!!!!!!

Er hem.

Firstly, that resembles Carnage far more than Toxin. Basically because the symbiote in the picture is red in color with black striations, where Toxin is orange-brown with no striations. Also, Toxin's eyes are curled upwards, and typically Toxin doesn't bare his teeth unless he loses control or is angry.

They probably meant for it to be Toxin though, what with Carnage being ripped in half. Because it also doesn't resemble Carnage that well either. Carnage would have more black on his face, more violently splattered eyes, and doesn't typically show teeth.

So either way, the artist didn't do a very good job on that particular headshot.

And Toxin IS stronger than Venom and Carnage combined, as showed on his bio and in the fight, as stupid as it is. Although VenomDrool is right with the original continuity. However, the continuity of the symbiotes is completely screwed up the butt as it is anyway so really, none of it makes sense. I mean, Carnage has errors such as being frozen permanently by the Silver Surfer and escaping without any explanation, or having knowledge and relationship to Venom even though the symbiote Cletus was wearing before his death came from the negative zone and not from Carnage. Bah.

All this does is prove that they should have stopped the symbiote madness after Venom...or the first Carnage arc at the latest.

It's like Dragonball...each one is stronger than the last one...muhahahahaha!!

How long before Toxin reproduces and begats "Poison" or "Harmful if Swallowed"? They should put all the symbiotes (including the lame-asses from the Lethal Protector mini) in one room, let loose some sort of nova burst, and have ALL the Symbiotes give their lives to protect the Venom symbiote, which is the one that brought them all to this planet. Then, the Venom symbiote should be significantly weakened, and fire and sound should be it's weaknesses again, and no more "the symbiote is in the bloostream" or "more powerful than Silver Surfer" crap.

Sorry...I miss the days when the symbiotes were defeatable...by someone other than Thor.

No, I totally agree with you.

And sadly, they did make a "Poison." It was what Peter called himself once he took on the symbiote again in "What if? Spider-man: The Other."

You are kidding me....right? Ugh. Marvel is officially taking suggestions from anyone now, aren't they?

Can you suggest to them to make it so that Aunt May isn't about to die for the 15th time?

Nah, too much to ask for.

That's crazy talk! It has to be done every five years to remind us that she is in failing health and could die at any moment! They haven't done it in awhile simply because they left her dead for a few years...give them a break! ;)

Is Sleepwalker in that pic?

(left of centre, second row from back, in front of Beetle)

What if the Carnage symbiote or Venom symbiote merged with the Red Skull? Imagine how much worse he'd become...

I ended up liking "Toxin," the mini series, when it was all said and done... but not because I'm a great fan of symbiotes. Pat Mulligan was a decent character... and his interaction with Toxin was interesting.

Agreed. I was pleasantly surprised by how much i enjoyed it.

They did, but the war is now over. there was a "General Amnesty" offered to all superheroes after Captain America surrenderd...

It is Toxin, Carnage got ripped in two.

 Because "dead is dead" in the Marvel U., right? :cwink:

Toxin is a good guy, Carnage is not.

That's kinda funny, because just a couple years ago, Iron Man was a good guy, and now he's not. The concepts seem to be so interchangeable at the House of Ideas that it's a moot point to even point that out.

...and no more "the symbiote is in the bloostream" or "more powerful than Silver Surfer" crap.

I thought the bloodstream thing was kind of an interesting angle for Carnage at least - simply for the fact that it was something to set him apart just a little bit from Venon. Not a mindblowing addition to the mythos, but it's a built-in reason for the character to show up again no matter what happens to the symbiote.

All of the other stuff I agree with you completely on, though. Carnage too powerful, kind of a one-note character. Check. We're in agreement. :woot:

I actually like Toxin. The way that Patrick and his symbiote interact is very interesting, because altough they remain one global entity, there is still these two individualities, I think it gives some excellente potential storylines. Another thing I thought could have been great with Toxin was the fact that they could have use ideas they couldn't with Spider-man, with the fact that he was raising a child, and it could have raised some parallelism between the education of his child and the "education" of his symbiote.

But well, even if they said that he is stronger than carnage and Venom (wich will theoretically make him far stronger than Spider-man), he may be doomed to become one background superhero, but we never know.
