Comics Um *he's* back... but NOT in a good way at all...

 Because "dead is dead" in the Marvel U., right? :cwink:

That's kinda funny, because just a couple years ago, Iron Man was a good guy, and now he's not. The concepts seem to be so interchangeable at the House of Ideas that it's a moot point to even point that out.
Erm. Carnage is a psychotic mass murderer. Tony Stark is an industrialist and futurist who decided to use the Government to build a better world. You can view him as a politician with views you don't agree on. But he's still a Good Guy. Whether you're pro-registration or not. You can't compare the two at all.

He engineered a war. He started it. He made money - millions! - off the death of superheroes and civilians alike. That's a good guy?

Say what you want about how right the Pro-Reg side may be or how valid a point they may have, but in the Civil War mini proper and in all of the tie-in material that I read, Tony Stark was portrayed as an out-an-out villain who hired ruthless and dangerous supervillains to hunt down people he called friends, and then locked said friends up for simply not agreeing with every little thing he said.

Whatever backtracking Marvel has tried to do since then to make Iron Man more sympathetic is irrelevant - it is impossible to read Civil War without thinking, "Wow, man, Iron Man is pretty much a *****ebag right now."

I wasn't trying to say that Carnage and Iron Man are the same. I'm just point out that with enough bull**** explanation, a character can be whatever you want it to be, and that it's getting harder and harder to tell the difference between heroes and villains in the Marvel Universe.
