Hello all,

I haven't been keeping up with Spiderman for a long, long time. But, I've recently visited the marvel website, checked on Spidey's bio......and was SHOCKED!!!

Spidey's got a new (Ironman type) Costume??

Spidey has new powers??

He has organic web-shooters now and more "spider-like powers"????

He's been killed and "reborn"????

And.........he revealed his secret identity????

Um......WTF!!??? Is all of this true?? That seems like a major overhaul to a flagship character???

Please help this absent spidey fan out.

True and even the writers are starting to forget they exist. I guess they just can't come up with enough good uses for killer stingers when their hero doesn't kill...funny, you would have thought they had figured that one out before hand.

Both of which have done little to no good.

Yup and not to the surprise of many (it had been predicted for a while this would be marvels next "big shocker"). Whether or not this will even last is questionable though since just about everything is being retconned these days.

That was the general plan. If it doesn't "rock the marvel universe" it won't be pleasing to the fans. The biggest problem is not so much the huge curveballs marvel keeps throwing our way, it's how poorly they are being handled. Had half of this stuff been written well, people probably wouldn't be nearly as pissed.

Curiousity does get the best of us sometimes. If you found out there was actually a story that tried to justify what Sins Past did, you'd be a little curious to find out how such a thing could exist too...wouldn't you?

hey....thanks all.

yes....I am fond of Spider-man. I was really into Spider-man in the 90s. But, I've grown more partial to Superman lately ( Kansas Pride...Booyah! ).

I actually enjoy all heroes...both DC and Marvel. Of course.......as my name suggests.....I like the World's Finest....Superman and Batman!

I've never really been an avid comic book. I've read them off and on. I keep up-to-date through the internet. That's why I was quite shocked with all of the changes.

I actually find some of the changes very interesting. But, I remember the last time they shook up the status-quo in the Spidey universe....cough....Clone Saga.....cough.....and we all know how that turned out.......

Oh...and is the Gwen Stacey thing.......the one where she slept with the Green Goblin.....had some kids.....and said kids paid Spidey a visit??? Again, I read that on the internet.

So......is Gwen still dead??

Yup, retconned to hell and back with save one major point (Spider-girl) yet leaving a large and loyal fanbase behind. However I think I can safely say I wont be seeing any Sins Past appreciation threads, or an Other World Order(OWO) in the near future

dont you wish? hey i liked MKSM 1 - 12... and then norman told peter how every hero was "issued" a villian, that is was all planed like that. i didn't like that so much. it kinda killed the story for me a bit
