Need for Speed was a domestic flop. The extra $150mil it made overseas (mostly China) wasn’t enough to make up for that godawful performance at home.

It's like Warcraft. It crashed and burned domestically, but made 440 M worldwide mostly thanks to China. Still doesn't help make a sequel though lol

The studio has to still greenlight that idea.
It doesn't happen without them.
That is Undeniable.
Do you think people aren’t blaming Sony? Not sure where the confusion is coming from. People blame Sony. They also blame Holland and that can be separate. Holland isn’t a robot or puppet.

The movie looks fake in the same way jungle cruise did and that maybe intentional given its based on a game. I think this might be a hit and were seeing movies becoming bigger hits due to audiences starving for blockbuster movies. I say a $100 mil domestic but IW who knows

I think you may be giving them too much credit

Yeah if I'm reading right the crown is Detective Pikachu's at 68%, 6/10 avg score

I know lol Im grasping at straws given Im huge fan of the series and yes Im still not sold holland and Wahlberg in the roles. I want this to be good and this franchise truly if done right could be the new generations Indiana Jones and its
Blatantly obvious.

Not seen the movie yet but I can't get over how much that casting is a missed opportunity. Fleischer is a good director when his heart is in it. And playing the 3rd game now Nate and Sully are about as far from Holland and Wahlberg as you can get.

Fleischer I think, outside Zombieland, has just become a corporate director. The director SONY gets when they need something done on time, not go over budget, and doesn't ruffle any feathers. Kinda like John Moore (but waaaaay better).
And that's not a bad thing to be. But it doesn't inspire my faith in a project he's involved in.

Which is crazy because when Zombieland dropped in 2009 I thought he was going to be one of the next big things (along Duncan Jones and Neil Blomkamp) I remember really wanting him for the Deadpool directing job. But he never lived up to the first Zombieland from what I've seen. I still need to see Zombieland 2

Zombieland 2 was actually a really good sequel, I was worried about that one for the reasons you state but they nailed it. I think Fleischer did pretty good with Venom also. As I say when his heart is in it he can be good.

Be interesting to see where the RT meter lands following more reviews.

At 50% thought currently which still makes one of the best reviewed VGM's ever, which is crazy when you think about it.

Werewolves Within is the best reviewed video game movie at 86% on RT.com.

Werewolves Within

I think I'll just rewatch that instead of Uncharted.

Ah true, unfortunately I didn't think much of WW, though it did make me aware of the curvy glory that is Milana Vayntraub so I will always be thankful to it for that.

No surprise Uncharted's score has took a hit with the US critics.

Well it looks like PlayStation has followed in the footsteps of Sega and now have a video game opening title sequence featuring its most popular gaming characters.

this played at the start of Uncharted similar to the opening of Sonic: The Hedgehog

If you guys were directing an Uncharted movie, who would you cast as Sully?

For me, i would choose either Tom Hanks or J.K. Simmons.

I found the film's editing and action to be very choppy, which really annoyed me. It seems whenever something cool was happening or there'd be a cool fight scene, constant quick cuts and frantic camera movement.

Something I'd never have to deal with if I played Uncharted at home.

Paul Giamatti or Christoph Waltz

But I like your two choices also.

Bruce Campbell would have been good too, but he says he's too old for evil dead so I doubt he would feel up to the challenge of a big blockbuster adventure film.
