Maybe. It's Sony so I'm not optimistic. But what's the point? Call it something else.

They want the brand name obviously :o

The brilliant mind who brought you Venom, Ruben Fleischer.

Hey I enjoyed Venom in a "is this a B movie" kind of way. Looking forward to Venom 2 :hehe:

In a more faithful adaptation of Uncharted, I'm trying to imagine Mark Whalberg with a Tom Selleck 'stache for Sully :funny:

I think the problem with Zombieland was more it felt kind of dated. Felt like a sequel that should've happened a couple years after the original rather than 10 years.

The writers of the original were rewritten which was the problem.

I like Fleischer though. I even liked Gangster Squad.

I actually like Fleisher as a director too, but Zombieland is still his best film. I didn't mind the sequel though, but it was nowhere near as good as the original IMO.

Yeah I heard it wasn't as good as 1 (not surprising) but heard it was pretty good

I don't trust Fleisher much though. He's a 1 hit wonder with films for me. Zombieland is great. 30 Mins of Less was meh at best, Gangster Squad wasn't good, Venom is bad but still enjoyable. I do like Superstore which he exec produces. But yeah he's like 1/4 of the movies I've seen. On top of just a seemingly weird take on the source material, I don't have confidence in this project.

But we'll see. As said, it could still be a good movie. Just won't be good as an adaptation

To be fair, Tomb Raider at least had the reboot game where it was focused on her origin. So I wouldn't equate what they're doing with this film with Tomb Raider. The best they had with that for Nathan Drake were those few, relatively brief, levels in Uncharted 3 and 4.

But I've long said I don't want origin movies for games.

Filming in Berlin has been completed. Presumably moving to Spain now.

You mean those levels when Nate Drake is like 11-13 years old?

yeah I loved that version of the opening theme for UC4 it was unique but shared similarities to UC 1 to 3 if they do something like what was used for UC4 theme for the film that would be cool but if they keep the original from the trilogy that would be as cool too either way it will be cool in the end.

Surely, there must be a new Uncharted game after this movie, right? I know Sony Pictures and PlayStation Studios operate differently but I don't see why both especially PlayStation would let something like this to happen, if the Uncharted games are truly done. I don't like the idea of this young Nathan Drake played by an actor who looks nothing like Nathan Drake but if this leads to Uncharted 5 or Uncharted Zero, then great. Rachet & Clank got a new videogame based from the movie.

Pic of the set in Spain where they’ll be moving now. Apparently it’s standing in for Thailand.

I just hope they have the theme

Not holding my breath. Most movies based in games drop the iconic music. Even the Sonic the Hedgehog film only briefly used Green Hill Zone once toward the end.

Unless they make a movie about Drake's daughter as an adult, I don't see the point. The story is pretty much over.

That is an awesome theme I hope that they keep it. Might be the only thing about this movie I enjoy.

Also I thought Zombieland 2 was a really good sequel. I like Fleischer as a director, and if this were a faithful adaptation of the games I would be right on board with him directing. The story choice still just sounds so awful though.

They could do another one with Chloe. Or Sam.
