Disheartening to see how much the negative reviews tanked the box office - almost 6 mil less than projections after Friday's numbers. I definitely still want to see it, though. I'm always skeptical of critics w/horror (especially movies that aren't trying to be subtle/"elevated") and I've heard it's entertaining from several folks online whose taste I usually vibe with. So I'll still be checking it out when I can; hopefully next weekend.

Well.....the one solace is that Marlon Wayans can walk away knowing he at least got major praise for his performance!

It’s a shame this turned out to be bad (I presume; I still have yet to see it). The premise seemed really interesting to me; kind of like an update to the old legend about Robert Johnson selling his soul to the devil to become a great guitarist (only with sports instead of music in this case).
