The only way SNL could make fun of Tyler Perry is if they did a spoof of his films and their materials but did it with white actors instead. But then it probably wouldn't be very funny.
I imagine In Living Color would also wanna touch on the Obamas at some point too.
I always liked Damon Wayans and David Alan Grier (Loomis Simmons & Calhoun Tubbs LMAO) the best on the show. Carrey was ok but the show went to **** when the funniest people dialed it down (Grier, Keymah and Davidson) or just straight up left (Damon Wayans, Kelly Coffield, Kim Wayans) and it became the Jim Carrey Show. Those skits were he always fooled around in the background though were always funny as hell.
Oh and for the record Chris Rock has said many times that he felt very out of place over at SNL and went over to ILC specifically cause he felt way more within his element over there. It's not his fault that it was for the last 2 seasons though. By the time he expected to become a regular the show was already bound for cancellation.
i have a feeling that the entire new cast is going to be announced & presented at the Fox 25th anniversary special at the end of April
it'd be nice to have a reunion with the Wayans, Jim Carrey, David Alan Grier, etc.
So.... what's happening with this, exactly?
What’s going on with the In Living Color reboot?
REILLY: In Living Color is done. That’s not going to happen, unfortunately, for various reasons. It just didn’t come together. That show was a seminal show on television, and the bar was set at that level, and it just didn’t seem like it was going to reinvent the next chapter. I’m not giving up all hope that, at some point, we could reboot that. But, the particular one we shot is not going to be it.
