Tbh I could do without The Rock in this, as he's starting to feel overexposed to me. That being said I absolutely understand the link from a business perspective.

I actually think Dwayne Johnson should be Frankenstein's monster while Bardem should be the Wolfman.

In this version Dr.Frankenstein collects his body-parts from the recent Mr.Olympia contest disaster?

The issue with the Rock as the Wolfman, is how do you do the transformation of someone who is already rather intimidating.

He won't need a muscle suit, that's for sure.
Also, his Hobbs's character is indeed pretty much Frankenstein's monster or the Hulk, especially during that jailbreak scene.

Eh, I think I'm gonna pass on this as a whole. Penny Dreadful's already done it better.

That's my problem with it. Slap some faux fur on the Rock and he's the Wolfman. No transformation needed.

I do wonder if their iteration of The Wolfman is like a tribal thing maybe? Maybe he's some kinda wolf warrior. Sounds stupid (because it is), but it could be what they're doing. Personally I just want to see Talbot again.

To have The Rock in the movie and a huge beast w/o too much SFX to bulk the actor up.
Do you think I was serious with that post ? :)

If I may interject before Universal signs the Rock as the Wolfman...I think i have a better choice in my opinion.
I have nothing against Dwayne at all. I just think he is cast in too many roles now and is over saturating his brand.
Also...he is a bit too large for the Wolfman. Unless, another actor is going to be the human male lead & Dwayne is just going to just appear in makeup as his hulking self. Either way, my choice for Wolfman aka Lawrence Talbot is...

I think underrated and still has a lot to offer.

Also...if the Dark Universe has the inclusion of Phantom of the Opera...my biased choice would instantly be :

Theyre wasting money getting these stars

It isn't a bad strategy in principle but in terms of box office, Depp and Cruise are risky propositions now. Crowe and Bardem will intrigue but again not sure how much of a pull they have.

Part of Depp and Cruise's problem are their characters. The latter is an unknown (as as we know) while the former, unless it's going to be absolutely off the wall and firmly tongue in cheek, I'm not sure how many people will have interest in the invisible man.

I hope they don't use a lot of CGI on The Wolf Man. I liked how he looked in the 2010 remake. He looked fantastic and just like in the original.

I think these are instances where they want A list stars akin to the old school Universal days. Boris Karloff, Lon Chaney, etc. We're not gonna get a Charlie Hunnam for the Gillman and ****.
