Netflix has the entire original 80s show available for free streaming and I've been watching it to catch back up on it (only saw a few episodes here and there when I was a kid).

The original show is so much better! Ok it has a lot of 80s-style production values but it's still almost as good as I remember it and still really entertaining. The human resistance from the original beats the pants off the bumbling morons in the new one.

And there are so many things the new show ripped straight off from the old one, geez. I already thought the writers of the new show were lazy and uninspired, but watching the old one reveals even more laziness! I mean, did they really need to copy stuff like the main character ripping off random V's face during a fight, pregnant w/ alien baby plot, human experiments, family troubles, etc?

At least the humans in the old show knew that the Vs were aliens but in the new show it's like they're all ignorant. And what happened to the vocal effects of the Vs?

Man the new show sucks on so many levels compared to the old one. :doh: We still haven't even gotten a cool gunfight yet, nor do we really know what the Vs look like or what they eat.
 
Yes they needed to copy some of that stuff. They are paying homage to the original afterall. And doesnt matter if they were paying homage or not, things like human experiments and family troubles is just a given. Would be done one way or another.
 
I hope the ratings cane keeup around 6-8mill per episode so we can get a third season depending on the hsow the 2ndseason goes.

the general public is ignorant...far as they know they are nice benevolent aliens....they haven't shown their hand yet I like that part of it
 
Since the first season was largely about preparation and therefore had a slow pacing perhaps season two is going to be execution of everyones plans.

And I can't get over how great Jane Badler looks. Diana is going to give Anna a serious run for her money in Season 2 because from what I've read, she's being held prisoner against her will on the Mothership. It appears that Diana is actually the Queen Mother but Anna staged some sort of coup and overthrew her. None of the other lizards--including her granddaughter Lisa--knows she is still alive, let alone on the ship itself locked away.

So the million dollar question for season 2 is...what happens when Diana gets free? We all know she doesn't exactly do well with cages. ;)

I think they probably wanted to play up the terrorist/freedom fighter dynamic a bit more, too. It's more resonant in today's society than open warfare.

Yeah, I saw it on the newswire a few hours ago. It's made of win. Hopefully this will bring the older fans (who, unlike myself, were unwilling to give this updated version a shot) a reason to finally get behind the show.

Think of it as Obama asking Hillary to be his VP. Ya know...to unite their party. LOL :p

Agreed. New people behind this second season, and the new guy is total old-school V fan. I think it's starting to show. Entertainment Weekly said that this season is going to have 150% more action sequences ergo, a real WAR.

The tail is all kinds of f***ed up! And I'm surprised that Ryan is the one cutting it off since he was so against the idea of skinning the Visitors in season 1. Perhaps things have changed with him?

Yeah, I've always hated that Malik b****. She was definitely dirty as hell on the show. But still...what a way to go. :dry: And I agree, it's pretty strong imagery. I wonder if ABC will go through with airing it? The show is coming on at 9pm starting next year, as opposed to its original slot of 10-11pm. More kiddies awake.

It's good to see that the Resistance are finally doing more than just sitting around talking about how bad the Visitors are.

And I want more Vistors doing parkour. :o:up:
