Vartha: In Memoriam

Kudos to Mirko for repping us all over there.

He was always friendly. RIP. You will be missed.

Damn, that statement is heartbreaking. I'm gonna miss Vartha's seemingly endless optimism around this board. Tragic. :csad:

I agree that her words were quite emotional. As a dad, my soul aches for her. If she ever sees this thread, I hope she knows just how much we appreciated the time that her dad spent here and how much enthusiasm he spread around the Hype.

I did not have that many direct interactions with Vartha, but often saw his posts and interactions with other members.

He seemed a nice guy... My condolences to his family and friends.

RIP Vartha

You were a positive light on here even though I did not personally know you.

It is really sad cause we talked about him possibly making it out to San Diego for Comic Con next year. I was looking forward to meeting him and introducing him to my family.

We were friends on Facebook. We had a mutual love for Thor, ancient history, Geek medieval groups (He with Ren Faire and I with the SCA). I wish I made more time to talk to him. I hope he is in Valhalla sitting next to Thor eating roasted Lamb and drinking strong Ale!

Rest in peace. I never had a chance to talk with him but he obviously was a beacon of joy for many here. My sincere condolences to his family, and his friends.

Just saw this and I'm heartbroken for his family.

RIP Vartha. You will always be a treasure.

This is sad news. He seemed like a really nice guy.

RIP Vartha.

WTH!??! Vartha was the few ones who welcomed me here when I joined this community. RIP Vartha.

RIP to Vartha

Prayers and thoughts to his family during this very difficult time.

really enjoyed reading all the kind words about him in this thread. i hope his family stumbles across this as its obvious from his daughter's post that they knew of us and how much this community meant to him. despite all the crap that goes on here sometimes, that's gotta make you feel good.

Brad (or as I called him, Wiggum) was a great guy. we've sent each other gifts once or twice. Movie codes, Funko figures etc and he was always upbeat and positive. we both worked late night shifts for a spell and word text each other sometimes when the hype was slow and we were bored at work.

i'm half tempted to design some sort of tshirt to wear to see Ragnarok in memory of him. I hate that he won't get to see it when he was so excited for it.
maybe a shot of mjolnir with For Vartha underneath in Thor-ish letters or something.

i wish we had more guys like him on here. this really sucks and i feel so horrible for his family and loved ones

Couldn't they be directed to this thread instead of just stumbling upon it? Then we could be sure they could see all the tributes. Or these could be collected and sent in a document to them.

I remember him, rest in peace :(

He was a very nice and helpful person, with a great sense of humour. May he RIP :csad:

RIP, Vartha.

He was a nice person, and I loved reading his enthusiasm for Agents of Shield. That is where I knew him from, I post and lurk while a season is airing, and it was a pleasure. My favorite memory of Vartha is the manips for AoS. He did the SHIELD ID cards, the SHIELD logo, wallpapers... etc...

One of the rarest people you come across online... because he was a nice person, and here for his love of the fandoms.

I got in contact with his daughter, and received this message.
We received the flowers&kind card from [The Founder] but I'm having a hard time navigating the site from my cell to give a huge thank you to this group. It honestly made me cry to read all of the wonderful words from everyone. I'm so happy that he was able to connect with so many people all around the world. I went thru his contacts on his cell&saw ComicChick but I wasn't sure if it was THE comic chick in the forums. If you could possibly pass this msg along, it would mean a lot. &once I get to my computer, I can make an account to fill you all in on what happened.

I only learned of this today. I rarely interacted with him but he always seemed nice.

RIP Vartha.

I haven't been on the Hype in a while. I've been busy. I wish I hadn't been. I wasn't really close to Vartha but I knew him, I asked him for some suggested reading not long ago and he replied. Still, learning that he's passed I did that ugly crying thing people do, and then I went and pulled this out because I feel it is only appropriate.
