Vartha: In Memoriam

Damn. V was a special dude. Just wanted to be nice to everyone and know everyone... It's been a big gut punch around here :(

Wtf, I am just hearing about this.

Rest in Peace, Vartha.

Had the pleasure of conversing with him a couple of times. Great fella.

Damn, this is really bad news.

Don't remember having any conversations with him, but as lots of others said here, Vartha seemed like a really nice and genuine character. My thoughts go to his family.

Wow, just heard about this myself, one of the nicest posters on here and though I never spoke to him in person, seemed like a really nice guy. RIP Vartha, this place won't be the same without you

I just saw the notice :( While I don't "know" many Hypers here, Vartha was always super nice to me and helped me when I first started posting here after I messed up my first thread. I always enjoyed his enthusiasm (and his awesome SHIELD jacket he shared)

He'll be missed. RIP Vartha. Wherever you are, I hope you get to see Thor: Ragnarok before the rest of us. You deserve it.

Sorry to hear this news. I have not been here much lately. RIP Vartha

Really shocking to hear. I wasn't close to Vartha, but I always remembered him from the first Avengers movie forum and he seemed like a cool dude. Always enjoyed hearing what he had to say. Was one of my favourite posters/mod.

with all the talk about the solar eclipse yesterday, i got bummed for a minute. Vartha would've loved it and would've taken photos and shared them with us. i've no doubt

I am so sorry to hear of Vartha passing, definitely gone too soon. May he rest in paradise.

I haven't been around the boards for a while, and just found this thread. :(

I'm so sorry to hear of Vartha's passing. His posts always stood out as very happy, positive, and enthusiastic.

Rest In Peace, Vartha.

I'll keep up the good words. One of the best, most level-headed dudes I ever talked with on the internet. It might not mean much to many, but the guy seemed genuinely considerate and open-minded.

I've only just seen this news, oh man this is so sad! R.I.P Vartha

Very sad to learn of Vartha's passing. He was a cool guy. Rest in peace, Mod of Thunder. My deepest sympathies to his family.

Saw this and couldn't help but think of Vartha.

I thought about him as I was watching the opening scene of Ragnarok. I liked it, but he would have adored it.

Same. I kinda feel we maybe should have tried to contact Marvel in some way. He was such a Thor fan. It would have been nice if we could have gotten a dedication to Varth in the credits somehow...

Didn't he start out in the 'artist' section with creating some of his own characters?

Got in contact with his daughter again, and she shared the details.
The coroner said he had a heart attack. He had no previous heart issues that we are aware of. He had been complaining to my grandpa of bad indigestion a couple days before and he just took tums and thought nothing else of it. It's still a shock for all of us that it even happened.. the thing that bothers us is my grandma had gone into the hospital for her heart that weekend.

He was worried because he thought she was going to have to get a stint put in, but the Dr found another way to remove a clot. He felt a little less worked up when he found that news out that Sunday. We are thinking he passed that night or that following Monday since he hadn't gone into work, didn't answer my grandpas phone calls or get online. My grandpa had gone to his apartment, knocked, didn't get a response so he got the apartment manager. She found him and called the coroner. We didn't do an autopsy but the coroner said that it looked to be a heart attack. It's been really tough on everyone, especially my grandparents who lived in the next town over.

I wanna say thank you to everyone at the hype for the flowers, the kind words, just keeping us all in your thoughts. I know a lot of you all are still hurting too. I just try to stay positive that he's catching up with my grandma (my mom's mom) & uncle(his best friend of over 20 years) in heaven or Valhalla. Thank you for giving us our space, we really appreciate it. I know it hasn't been easy for everyone who had to play the waiting game to find out what happened.
Seems it was troubling to sign up.

yeah. he was pretty active over there in the early days, still had an art thread

I've been gone from the Hype for over a year so I'm just now learning of this tragic news.

I absolutely ADORED Vartha. What a down-to-earth, warm-hearted guy. He always had a kind, positive word to say or a bright thought to share. I will miss him and our PM chats immensely. :csad:
