FADE IN:

INT. UNREVEALED - TIMELESS

Blackness, that is all we can see.

VOICE
(V.O.)
We all have monsters living within us. At least that is what my mother used to say to explain the evil that men did to each other. I never dreamed that one day, she would be proven right.

CUT TO:

EXT. LUXURY APARTMENT BLOCK - NIGHT

High up the building on one of the upper floors we can see a man being held out of the window by his ankle.

WINDOW MAN
(terrified)
Please, I don’t want to die.

Closer we see what is holding him. A large red and green monster with large white eyes and huge fangs. This is TOXIN

VOICE
(V.O.)
You see that guy there is me.
(pause)
No, not the guy hanging out of the window, the other guy. I guess you would call it a monster, but don’t be fooled I am anything but. The truth is, what you are seeing is just a costume.
(pause)
Okay so the costume is alive and it talks to me, and no I’m not insane, the costume is actually a living creature from another planet and
(pause)
I’m getting ahead of myself.
(pause)
Let me start from the beginning.

CUT TO:

INT. POLICE STATION, CAPTAIN’S OFFICE

A young man, tall, blue eyed and brow haired and wearing a brand new officers uniform walks into the captains office. This is Patrick Mulligan,

Paddy to his friends.

The office is filled with filing cabinets, each stacked high with paper work and folders, both in the draws and on top of them. In the middle is a big ornate wooden desk, sat behind which is a big, rough looking man...Captain
Jim Bess.

VOICE
(V.O.)
That’s me. No not the man sitting down, the guy in the nice clean officers uniform. Officer Patrick Mulligan. Paddy to my friends.

Captain Bess looks up from his paper work.

CAPTAIN BESS
(to Patrick)
Yeah? And you are?

PADDY
Officer Mulligan sir. I was just transferred here today, I believe you got my paperwork a few days ago.

CAPTAIN BESS
I did?

He rummages through some paperwork.

He finally fixes his sight on a file and picks it up.

Bess glances through the contents quickly.

CAPTAIN BESS (CONT’D)
Well, Patrick is it?

PADDY
Yes sir. But everybody just calls me Paddy.

CAPTAIN BESS
Well, Officer Mulligan, it seems everything is in order. I guess I’m stuck with you.

PADDY
I guess so sir.

CAPTAIN BESS
Well.
(thinks)
I suppose a welcome to the team is in order. I would show you the ropes myself but I’m kind of busy.
(pause)
But I know a guy who is perfect for the job.
(pause)
Plus he needs a new partner.
(pause)
Wait here two minutes

The Captain gets off his seat and walks toward the door

He exits.

Paddy begins to look around the room. He sees a couple of newspaper reports. One reads.

KILLER PRESUMED DEAD ESCAPES FROM MORGUE

Just then Bess ENTERS followed by a man. T

he man is about the same age as Mulligan but is slightly shorter and with blond hair.

CAPTAIN BESS (CONT’D)
(to Paddy)
Officer Mulligan this is Officer Leeds.
(to Leeds)
This is Officer Patrick Mulligan, just transferred today.

They shake hands

LEEDS
(to Paddy)
Please, just call me Dave.

PADDY
In that case you can call me Paddy.

LEEDS
Okay

Captain Bess grins.

CAPTAIN BESS
It’s nice to see you two getting on. Considering that I have just decided to make you partners.

LEEDS
(to Bess)
Excuse me.

CAPTAIN BESS
Hey. You need a partner and he needs someone to show him around.

LEEDS
I know but...

CAPTAIN BESS
...It’s time to move on from that. Look just give it a few weeks to see how you feel and then we’ll see how it goes.

Leeds sighs

LEEDS
(sighing)
Fine.

PADDY
(to Leeds)
I hope I’m not being a burden.

Leeds smiles and shakes his head

LEEDS
No. It’s just I haven’t had a partner for a few months now, I’m just a bit rusty.

I didn't expect the sequel this fast. This is a good thing I really liked the previous story

Well I was bored and couldn't think of anything else to do...so I decided to do the sequel

EXT. POLICE STATION - DAY

Paddy and Leeds exit the building.

PADDY
(V.O.)
So here I was, new city, new job, new partner.

They walk to a squad car and climb in.

INT. SQUAD CAR - DAY

Leeds is in the drivers seat. Paddy looks out of the window admiring the scenery.

LEEDS
You lived here long?

PADDY
No. Just moved in last week.

LEEDS
Last week huh?

PADDY
Yeah. It took a wife for the missus to settle in.

LEEDS
Married then?

PADDY
Yep. Name’s Gina. We’ll have been togther six years this fall.

LEEDS
That’s nice. Relationships tend not to work these days.
(pause)
Kids?

PADDY
Not yet, but one is on the way.

LEEDS
Hey that’s cool. Do they know what it is?

PADDY
We asked to be surprised. We figured some things you shouldn’t know, a bit like presents at Christmas. But luckily we only have a few more weeks before we find out.

LEEDS
Well I’m real happy for...

RADIO
(filtered)
Robbery at Frank’s Hardware. Available unit please respond.

LEEDS
(to Paddy)
We’re pretty close. Want to see some action.

Paddy smiles and shrugs

PADDY
Sure why not? No time like now.

Leeds picks up the radio

LEEDS
(speaking into radio)
Car 65 responding. Just a few blocks away, show us dealing.

RADIO
(filtered)
Affirmative

EXT. SQUAD CAR - DAY

The squad car does a U-Turn and drives back the other way.

EXT. FRANK’S HARDWARE - DAY

Paddy and Leeds pull up in to the parking area in front of the shop.
Through the windows we can see a group of people. They look scared and shocked.

A man walks past the window. He is holding gun, his face covered by a ski mask.

INT. FRANK’S HARDWARE - CONTINUOUS

The masked man turns his head and sees Paddy and Leeds.

He bangs the gun against his head, trying to think.

Finally he aims the gun at the store clerk.

MASKED MAN
What did I say about cops?

CLERK
(scared)
I didn’t. I couldn’t. I’ve been standing here all the time. I’ve...

MASKED MAN
...Shut up. I’m trying to think.

CLERK
Look if you just let us...

The masked man rushes over to the clerk and pushes the gun next to his face.

MASKED MAN
What part of shut up was unclear?
(pause)
Is there a back door.

The clerk thinks

MASKED MAN (CONT’D)
Well? Answer or hats will be the least of your worries.

CLERK
To the right, end aisle. Go down, green door. Straight through the staff room and out.

MASKED MAN
Thanks

He runs off just as

Paddy and Leeds enter

EXT. FRANK’S HARDWARE, BACK DOOR
The masked man runs out of the door.

He jumps a fence and crosses a road.

CUT TO:

EXT. ALLEY - DAY

The masked man runs in to the alley but it is a dead end.

MASKED MAN

****. Oh ****

He turns to run the other way but a large silhouetted figure blocks his way.

MASKED MAN (CONT’D)
Move it.

The figure doesn’t move.

The masked man points his gun at it.

MASKED MAN (CONT’D)

Move or I’ll shoot. I swear to god I’ll blow your brains out.

The figure still doesn’t move.

The masked man fires a shot. It hits the figure in the shoulder.

The figure doesn’t move.

MASKED MAN (CONT’D)
What the hel...

The sentence is cut short as a long slimy black tentacle/pseudopod whips out of the figure and latches on the mans face, covering it entirely.

The masked man is lifted in the air.

The figure steps forward. It is jet black, large white eyes, a mouth full of fangs, long slime dripping tongue and with a large stylized white spider logo on its chest

This is VENOM

VENOM
Okay. I moved

The tentacle slams the mans head in to the wall, crushing it like a ripe tomato

dr venture said:
Yeah check my sig and your story is really good

Cool. The end was very typical of Mikey.

Tho the guys are looking pretty skinny to me.

CUT TO:

EXT. ALLEY - DAY

Paddy and Leeds watch as the Masked man is zipped into a body bag.
The press are there and are busy taking photos.

REPORTER
So what happened?

LEEDS
No comment.

REPORTER
Is this...?

LEEDS
...No comment.

Paddy and Leeds walk away from the press as the body of the masked man is loaded into the ambulance.

PADDY
What was that about?

LEEDS
Nothing. I just don’t like the press.

PADDY
Well I suppose they are only doing their jobs.

LEEDS
Well if you mean they are being a bunch of blood thirsty vultures, yeah I guess you’re right.

PADDY
(laughs)
You really don’t like the press do you.

Leeds fixes him with a stare. Paddy realizes that he should not have laughed.

LEEDS
Bad history.

PADDY
Want to talk about it?

LEEDS
I would rather discuss the case.

PADDY
Fine. Hey, if you change your mind.

LEEDS
Yeah, perhaps. Sorry, it’s nothing to do with you, it’s just I haven’t known you long enough to share certain things.

PADDY
Hey, that’s fine.

LEEDS
Well nothing we can do here.

PADDY
No.

LEEDS
Guess it’s back to the station, followed by a few hours of paperwork.

Paddy sighs

PADDY
(sarcastic)
My favorite part of the job.

CUT TO:

INT. SQUAD CAR - DAY

Leeds is once again in the driver’s seat as they cruise through downtown.

Paddy is looking out of the window, admiring the shops, cafes and different business establishments.

PADDY
Looks like a nice enough place.

LEEDS
It was. Once.

PADDY
Once? Why, has something changed?

LEEDS
A lot has changed. Once this was a safe place to live, people brought their families here to get away from the more dangerous ares.

PADDY
So what changed?

LEEDS
Everything. Worst of all we have become home to one of the worst serial killers in modern history.

PADDY
Really? I’ve never heard anything.

LEEDS
We’re trying to keep the media out of the loop. Don’t want to cause a panic.

PADDY
So how many?

LEEDS
How many what?

PADDY
Dead!

LEEDS
Well the last I heard they had found forty bodies, but there are still over two hundred people missing.

PADDY
Christ.

LEEDS
Now there is talk of another.

PADDY
Another?

LEEDS
Killer. There are new reports coming in, but witnesses, what few there are...well they are describing someone different to what we normally hear.

PADDY
How different?

LEEDS
Well originally we were looking for a thin guy, probably with red or light brown hair.

PADDY
And?

LEEDS
Well the new description is of a big black guy.

PADDY
You mean African-American?

LEEDS
Big and black is all I’ve heard.

Paddy looks out of the window at the seemingly idyllic setting.

He shudders.

INT. PADDY’S HOUSE - DAY

The house is filled with unpacked boxes from top to bottom.

A young woman, medium height, small build, long black hair and heavily pregnant ENTERS.

She is GINA

She is about to lift up a box when the front door opens and PADDY enters. He is followed by Leeds.

Paddy rushes over to Gina and takes the box off her.

PADDY
(to Gina)
What are you doing?

GINA
I’m working.

PADDY
Well don’t.

GINA
Then how are the boxes...?

PADDY
...I’ll do it. The doctor said you should take things easy. No unnecessary stress.

Paddy picks up the box.

PADDY (CONT’D)
So where do you want it?

GINA
Front room.

Gina notices Leeds.

Paddy notices that she has noticed Leeds.

PADDY
(to Gina)
Oh yeah. Gee, this is my new partner Dave Leeds.
(to Leeds)
This is the wife.

Gina and Leeds smile as they shake hands.

GINA
Pleasure.

LEEDS
Same.
(looks around)
Nice place.

Paddy EXITS with the box

GINA
Well it will be one day.

LEEDS
Nice homely charm.

GINA
I bet your house is just as lovely.

LEEDS
My wife and I could only dream of a house like this. No, the only thing I can afford is a small apartment I’m renting.

Paddy ENTERS

LEEDS (CONT’D)
(to Paddy)
This place must have cost you a bit.

PADDY
Not really. I took the advice of many a woman.

LEEDS
(smiles)
What’s that?

PADDY
I married rich.

LEEDS
(to Gina)
Rich?

INT. PADDY’S HOUSE, DINING ROOM - NIGHT

They are all sat around a large table, one of the few items in the house that is not packed away.

There are chinese takeaway boxes on the table

GINA

Well I’m not. But my dad owns a few companies, here and there.

PADDY
(to Gina)
If you call Hawking Oil company and all its subsidiaries a few companies, yes he does.

LEEDS
Hawking Oil. Isn’t that the biggest...

PADDY
...Yep.

LEEDS
Jesus.
(to Gina)
Your family must be loaded.

PADDY
About ten billion.

GINA
The company is worth ten billion you mean. But like I said, it’s my dad’s company, not mine.

LEEDS
Still I bet you have some put aside for a rainy day.

GINA
Well enough I suppose.

LEEDS
So what made you choose this place?

PADDY
What do you mean?

LEEDS
Well with all your money. You could have had a mansion and servants, the works.

Paddy smiles and shakes his head.

PADDY
Nah, we just want the simple life.

GINA
I want a nice little home to look after and raise the kids.

PADDY
(to Gina)
Kid!
(to Leeds)
And I just wanted to be a cop. Then a post came up here and it seemed like fate.

Leeds smiles.

LEEDS
I’m sure if my family were worth millions I would have moved somewhere hotter than this.

GINA
Well I like it.

I've only read a little bit, but awesome opening, and TOXIN is like my fav. marvel character! Want to bounce idea's off of anyone? plz let me know! I'm a screenwriter and run a production company, plz get in touch, jus to chat about it, great stuff, congrats

Personally I prefer Venom, but seeing as I ended my Venom script with a sort of intro to Toxin I thought I might as well write a Toxin movie as well.

Oh yes I am still writing this I just got a bit busy with other projects, but expect an update soon.

In case any of you are wondering what is up with this script it is very simple

Due to the fact it is going to be more epic...3 hours instead of Venom's 90 mins, I have decided to just do the entire script and post a link to a PDF file of the whole thing when I am finished.

So it will probably be up in the next two weeks or so.
