Manhattan looks excellent. I think the glow was a clever choice; it excuses the computer rendering. We all know that CG-rendered humans have an odd look about them--maybe something is a little too shiny or a little too smooth--but adding the glow to Manhattan makes these imperfections seem like a result of his condition, not imperfect rendering. Or, in other words, the unreal qualities that plague CGI become appropriate, because Manhattan is unreal.
The close up of his face looked especially fantastic.
Have to agree with this as well. I always thought the CGI de-ageified Prof X and Magneto from Xmen3 looked strange, and would have been a good effect for a movie about an invading race of aliens who were almost human looking but a little weirdly off somehow.
He looks better than i expected or hoped he would, I was not getting my hopes up for a great looking CGI Manhatten, but after seeing this video journal I am really impressed. A still photo from a magazine looking great is one thing, being in action with other peopel is another, and that final shot of Rorschach walking into the lab with the big guy looked like the perfect adaption.
t: When do they usually come online, you know? Early morning? Afternoon?
