Ok, you guys honest opinions, you can name adaptations from games, and what killed them as a movie. I'll start it off

Mortal Kombat Annihilation - Too many characters, story was straight up stupid, effects were not even subpar, no explanation for character appearances.

Street Fighter - Nothing to do with the game, Jean Claude Vanne Damme's performance, acting was horrible, fight scenes were horrible

Dead or Alive - Everything

The thing about Mortal Kombat Annihilation is that it's a prime example of what happens when you try to please too many fans. The first movie was strictly about the first movie, but then after it was a hit the fans wanted more, more, more.

They focused on giving the fans more characters that they forgot about making a good story.

Street Fighter, again, tried to put every SF character at the time in the movie even if they had nothing to do, and then tried to create a storyline around them.

Dead or Alive, I can't say anything about because I haven't seen it.

Double Dragon - Had so much potential, major letdown

The first Mortal Kombat and Silent Hill rule this genre.

Looking ahead, we've got Max Payne to come this year, and Prince of Persia and BioShock in the immediate future.

well at least Max Payne looks somewhat promising, lets not forget the upcoming Tekken movie, Street Fighter - the forgettable legend of Chun-li, the supposed Castlevania, Soul Calibur, and Devil May Cry movies as well :)

This is a good movie based on a game. Heck, it's THE good movie based on a game. ;)
