Hawkeye Vincent D'Onofrio returning as Wilson Fisk / The Kingpin

I mean its way too early to assume he is tolerating anyone. His role could have nothing to do with the
Tracksuit Mafia

I'm not suprised, "funny russia mafia" is just marvel thing to do.
I think they're Polish in this show, bro.
(I think in the comic they were more Ukrainian but I'm guessing they made them Polish to fit with Kazimierz apparently being a member here)

I know, but in every media ukrainian/polish/russian are treated as the same thing.

In Netflix russians we're potrayed as scary and dangerous and in Hawkeye we have another parody... Not fan of that.

Why exactly do you think it's dumb?

It would be like reintroducing Reed Richards as a random engineer that made a vehicle that doesn't work in WandaVision.

For another thing, Kingpin doesn't really fit the tone of the story being told here. Also it's a terrible way to reintroduce the character without establishing Daredevil, Matt Murdock, etc.

I mean... The Tracksuits are probably the most accurate MCU villain adaptation we've gotten. Pretty much straight from the page. I couldn't be happier with them, Bro.

Tracksuits are literally just a bunch of thugs, I dont think the show has done anything to make it seem like they're the main big bads.

I dont think anyone is actually supposed to take them as a big serious, life ending threat. Thats whatever is happening with Jack and potentially Eleanor and also a very Powerful friend

That's great! Give him the larger than life feel of the comics and SMTAS.

I think it's ridiculous. Not only he would feel like a different character, but it would probably make him look more cartoony. He was already big and menacing and widely considered one of the best comic book villains in recent times. Why mess with perfection? If true, it's a stupid decision.

I just don't see Feige doing this IF they bring Vincent back.

As I said in a previous post, at most he should wear lifts in his shoes like RDJ to give him extra height more than 6'4" to look even more imposing, but otherwise he's fine as he is. He definitely doesn't need a fat suit.

I could do without him putting on that growl though and just have him speak in his normal voice.

After hearing a Vincent D'Onofrio on the Denzel Washington is the Greatest Actor of All Time, Period podcast when they reviewed Magnificent Seven he strikes me as the type of method actor that he choose that Fisk voice and worked through it for a reason and won't change for a paycheck.

To each their own, but I want the larger than life Kingpin that can actually hold his own against Spiderman and members of the Sinister Six.

A 6'4 regular human isn't going to cut it unless you make him Luther, basically, and give him a tech suit, but he's never needed that in the comics because he's supposed to be physically capable.

So many people **** on CGI and preach realism realism. Well, realism wouldn't have given us the perfect Thanos we got on screen or the Hulk. Sometimes it's not amazing, like Juggernaut in DP2, but that's miles better than the Vinnie Jones body suit version we got previously.

It has nothing to do with general cgi hate. It's about a specifically unnecessary use of it. Thanos and Hulk are giant creatures that aren't even humans, so prosthetics wouldn't cut it. Deadpool's cartoony Juggernaut fit the tone of that movie but Singer's X-Men were more grounded and the effects weren't that good back then so their choice made sense too.

But everything in comic books is exaggerated to some extent. The same way we don't need a Mary Jane with huge boobs and a JJJ with a six-pack, we don't need an unrealistic human blob for a Fisk.

And you know what? If they wanted a different version, why bring D'Onofrio back? He was beloved for a reason. If they wanted something else they should have gone with a completely different iteration.

Assuming the rumour is true, it's monumentally stupid.

Eleanor Bishop is likely the main villain of the series, the one behind it all.

That's why I think Eleanor is the one behind everything.

There's literally a leaked photo of him out there. He's in the movie.

Yeah I just now saw that. Only saw the second leaked photo.

Not buying the Wilson Fisk rumors at all though.

It’s a little hard to comprehend after the excellent grounded take that we got in Daredevil that the word fat suit enters the conversation.

I get where you’re coming from but I’ll take the wait and see approach to this, assuming the rumor is true that is.
