Actually it wasn't entirely Nintendo's fault, going by what the gentleman from Rare said a couple of weeks ago.

He said that the Bond licensing was holding the game back also, on top of that they have Brosnan's likeness in the game, so that is another hurtle.

It probably wouldn't have worked even if Nintendo said yes to the deal.

Yeah, but Nintendo didn't seem like they even wanted to help get things situated. It's kind of hard to focus on the licensing issues when a major part of the deal has no interest. I don't see Brosnan's likeness being that big of a problem, it's just a re-release of a game he already agreed to. Even if they figured out all of the other problems, which they could have, Nintendo was still going to be stubborn. Their reasoning behind turning it down is pretty crazy.

Oh well, With Banjo coming out on XBLA, hopefully that means Perfect Dark isn't too far behind.

Yea, Perfect Dark would be a great bet, especially considering it was superior to Goldeneye anyways.

Plus Reggie has said that he was all for sharing certain licenses with Microsoft, but it was Iwata that declined Rare and MS offer. It's too bad on Nintendo's part, since it Rare was willing to share the rest of their library with the VC also in the deal. Then I could have Conker and PD and Banjo on the VC. :(

I don't understand Iwata's thinking though, since he did a similar thing to Capcom recently with Bionic Commando, declining them the chance to put the original on the VC. I wonder if that was in retort to them not doing re-armed for the Wii or something.

Who knows...

It was a poor decision. Those Rare titles were some of the higher ups in the "best N64" games. Not that N64 is getting much VC love, anyway.

We just have to let Nintendo get the NeoGeo bug out of their system, and then hopefully we'll get some more N64 love.

Personally I want more for the SNES to get released.

I want more everything to be released. There was a good 6 months last year where AAA titles were being released almost every week.

It would be nice to get some more of the top teir 1st party offerings, but it's a bit unreasonable to think every month should be like that.

On top of that, remember some of the stuff released lately, while not your thing, is considered top tier to someone else. It's all in the eye of the beholder. I have had several games released in the last two months that I loved as a kid and downloaded, but I know people here either never heard of, or didn't like.

See, that's the problem. It used to be a good balance of well known and not well known titles being released each week. Not anymore.

You're right, the balance has been messed up the past several months, with more lesser known games released more often than not.

I've been enjoying it though, since I grew up playing alot of the more obscure stuff.

I die a little inside each week when Super Mario RPG doesn't come out. It doesn't help that pretty much everywhere else has it too by now.

I'm sometimes ok with the obscure stuff, but when Y's magical adventure or whatever nonsense comes out week after week...

I wouldn't mind North vs. South though. I do like SOME obscure games!

You've never played the Y's games?

If you're looking for a top notch RPG, Y's Book 1 & 2 is right up your alley. It is one of the better of the RPG's from that generation. Don't knock it if you haven't tried it.

I'm not looking for a top-notch RPG per-say, although I have heard great things about Y's from it's cult fan base. I'm not one for RPGs actually. It's just Super Mario RPG really did it for me, and just was a really fun, charming game that I think is a tad overdue on the VC!

got mario prg last week, 1st time Ive ever played it, been having a great time with it

Super Mario RPG is one of my favorite RPGs on the SNES, but there are many other things worth playing on the VC. (Like Y's :O)

Ok, this is Y's right?

I'd never even seen it before. It doesn't really even look like an RPG. I'm not sure what it's supposed to be. Looks like you just run into enemies before darting off. Is it actually pretty good?

It's sort of a side scrolling RPG. And yes, it is really good if you can look past the different approach it took from other RPGs.

Haha, yessssss.... I've been playing it all morning, and it's just as good as I remember.

Everyone download Super Mario RPG now. It's amazing and maybe it'll send the message to Nintendo to bring back Geno and Mallow. :)

It figures that the day that I go back to school, which doesn't support the Wii's online functions, Super Mario RPG becomes available to download. :csad:

Same. Though I haven't tried getting online with the Wii here. My friend can't get online with his PS3 so I'm not expecting to be able to.

... how can your guy's dorms not have an internet connection? or are you guys just going wireless? just get the adapter.. no biggie

My room has wireless internet. You must have to do something to access it but I don't know. My friend's PS3 can't connect online either. I know a senior who is into games. I'm going to ask him if he knows how to get online.
