A recent posting on the Japanese Virtual Console website reveals that Seiken Densetsu 2, known in English as Secret of Mana, is making its way to the service.
A new posting on the Virtual Console website in Japan reveals that Square-Enix is starting to show increased support of the service, at least in Japan. A listing for Seiken Densetsu 2, also known as Secret of Mana in the West, is going to be their first major RPG release on the service later this month. The title is one of Square's highly regarded SNES RPGs and is known for its unique style, including the pictorial, ring-style menu.

With Super Mario RPG now available in all regions as a collaboration between Nintendo and Square-Enix, it is clear that the company's support is slowly ramping up. Though nothing is known of a U.S. release at this point, it seems likely, considering that the game was released in English.

It'll come to the US. I'll be getting it immediately.

I hope they release the rest of the Seiken Densetsu games on the VC also.

got 5 stars on mario rpg now level 19 for my boys looking to beat some power ranger wannabes for the next star, enjoyable game
After you beat the game, visit Monster Town, because you haven't beat the game yet...

Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People 2 should hit Virtual Console pretty soon as WiiWare, right?

Some time this month.

On Super Mario RPG, after you have beaten the game, fight Culex. It is a fantastic FF throwback battle.

How does one acquire these "wii points"? Does one rely on a service akin to the istore where you purchase a voucher and then buy the games at home on the wii?

or are they accomplishment related?

You pay for them via credit card, through the Wiishop channel.

Or you can buy point cards at a store such as Best Buy. The point cards are in 2000 point increments.

Today is a fantastic VC day.

Mega Man 9
Super Dodge Ball
Vectorman

All three of these are awesome additions.

Is Turtles In Time or any other Turtle game other than first on VC yet? Got Turtles on the brain for some reason.

Secret Of Mana today!

This is one of the greatest Square games ever, and we can download it now! :D

World of Goo is worth the $15. It's a lot of fun and very addicting.

any news on if and when the Turok games will ever be released onto the Wii virtual console?

Has anyone else bought Tetris Party? It is as great and addicting as any Tetris ever was.

Someone needs to play against me online. :cmad:

No and I wouldn't hold my breath on them.

1. The releases of Nintendo 64 games on the Virtual Console are rather slow coming.

2. The original Turok games were developed by Acclaim which went under in 2004. Disney Interactive Studios picked up the Turok franchise which currently does not support Nintendo's Virtual Console service. Plus who knows that when Disney bought the Turok franchise if they picked up the original games as well.

Earthworm Jim today!

Also Strong Bad episode three and a new Art Style game "Rotohex" on WiiWare.

I'm so getting Strongbad and Earthworm Jim today. :D

Are there any threads for the Wii Fit?

No and I wouldn't hold my breath on them.

:csad:

looks like I have to go out buy an N64 all over again, and get the games for myself...

Not yet.

Earthworm Jim is as stupidly fun as it was years ago though.

I've been lazy and haven't updated the list in awhile. There hasn't been anything really good or anticipated since Super Mario RPG.

I did see a post on Kotaku that we'll probably never get Earthbound on the VC b/c of the music rights or something.

What about Secret of Mana!?! That was just as important of a release as Super Mario RPG was.
