I have a feeling Sylar's next victim is Candace and that Peter survived. I see next season like this. Its going to be the search for Peter, Sylar's continued path of death, Wraith of the older generation, and new characters thrown into all this. I have a feeling Molly was talking about Claude.

I'm betting Peter will definitely be back.
I think Nathan is gone for good. Like other characters in different tv shows/movies/comics, Nathan found his redemption right before he died. He went out a hero, and I don't think that they should cheapen that.
I liked Sylar, but I was hoping he would be dead, making way for a new "big bad."

My mind is going nuts with theories...could Kensei actually be Hiro's father and his power is immortality or maybe something akin to Wolverine's slow aging?

Found it interesting that HRG's name is Noah...maybe he has plans to build an "ark" and round up people with powers to protect them from The Company?

On a different note, I found it hilarious that they showed a cockroach crawling out of the sewer lid...can't wipe them cockroaches out even if you tried...like Sylar.

i didn't really have any doubts that peter would be back....even though he was bound to go kaboom, and that particular power has the potential to be devestating, no one's powers have yet to be self-terminating....even if he couldn't heal....ted couldn't really kill himself with his own power could he? sylar wasn't worried about dying from it either....

peter needs to follow in hiro's footsteps and learn to harness his freakin powers....but once he does, his plot line will end up like supes....nothing can stop him so there aren't really too many interesting things they can challenge him with....unless they go early seasons of smallville about him learning about new powers, or batman beyond and have him mentor someone....

Nathan shouldn't be alive, it wouldn't make any sense. I can see Peter wandering the earth with a lost memory. The person w/ the drinking problem will probably be Parkman.

Precisely my reaction. How anticlimactic.

I think Hiro will end up with the clichéd "impersonate the REAL hero and fight the bad guys" storyline, but I doubt we'll see Peter or Sylar for at least a little while.

Hiro meets a badass with powers in Feudal Japan.
The twist will be that said badass is still alive today, and he is the one Molly is so scared of.

Maybe he is the one arranging people with powers to reproduce for special offsprings, that's why there are so many hero-couples.

I can see Volume II: Generations bringing in the older powers, such as Ma and Pa Petrelli, Simone's father, Claude, and other oldies...

 

[The Question]

Here's how I see it:

1: I think kensei is Hiro's father. I don't think he's immortal or can time travel, as that's too close to Claire and Hiro. My guesses are:

A: He has some kind of "good luck" power. The reason he can't die is simply because nothing every bad happens to him. However, that doesn't explain how he could commit suicide and still be alive, nor does it explain how he could be 400 yeras old and not look any older. Which brings me to...

B: Hiro's father is the reincarnation of Kensei. Which may in fact be his power. Every time he dies, he's reborn instantly.

2: I think the person worse than Sylar will be somehow related to Uluru. Maybe the Dragon fron the Kenei story?

I really think Nathan's character has run its course. Let him die a hero. Anything after that will just cheapen his sacrifice. Besides, how much more could he possibly do? Being able to fly doesn't exactly make him useful in a fight. How many times can he save the day at the last minute by flying the threat away?
I like the idea of Peter having no memory. That had actually occurred to me before I read it in this thread. The explosion and loss of his brother could be such a traumatic event that his memory just shuts down for a while.
I love where they're going with Hiro. He seems like the most dynamic character. His is truly a "hero's journey." He could stay in 17th century Japan long enough to train and a become a true warrior. Eventually he could emerge in modern-day as if no time has passed but with a whole slew of new skills.
I don't know yet how I feel about Sylar living. He is a great character and could possibly have a lot more story left in him. They just better make it good and have the character evolve in some way. Otherwise, season 2 could end up as a rehash of season 1. Although, I don't see that happening. We all know this show is written very skillfully and with plenty of surprises.
I hope we haven't seen the last of Claire and Mr. Bennet. They could just go back to their happy, normal lives at this point and live happily ever after. But I think they could be much more important in the future. Particularly Noah. He has seen the light and knows what his former company wants to do to all our heroes. He could be the central figure in organizing them as a team and keeping them safe. If they ever do go the route of being a "superhero team" he would be an excellent leader figure. No, I don't mean X-Men or Justice League style. This would be a more reality based team. And NO tights or capes! lol
Anyway, I'm just rambling now. The bottom line is I love this show and I'm hyped for season 2!
