Exclusive: Tim Kring Explains Heroes' "Generations" Finale
by Michael Logan

There are plenty more baddies coming after the writers' strike concludes. In fact, the title of Volume 3 — "Villains" — says it all.

"We've introduced a cadre of them over the course of the show and we're going to see them rise up," Kring says. "Just as the heroes have found each other to save the world, the villains will do the same with the opposite intent." And their numbers may be legion. "The Company has catalogued many of these people over the years. There may be more of them down in that basement than we have alluded to so far."

Will Sylar (Zachary Quinto) be their ringleader? After being electro-zapped by Elle, Mister Eyebrows escaped to a back alley and skeevily injected himself with Claire's (Hayden Panettiere) blood. Then, in a wicked salute to Popeye, he telekinetically grabbed a can of spinach and said, "I'm back!"
"Sylar getting his power back does not bode well for our heroes," says Kring, who admits there is one upside to the writers' strike: Originally, Quinto was not going to be available for much of Volume 3 because of his commitment to the new Star Trek film. Now, with the strike dragging on, he'll likely be done playing young Spock by the time Heroes returns to production.

I'm looking forward to season 3, whenever it comes out, because now we could very well see some more hero vs. villain battles perhaps?

I almost thought of Sylar forming a "Brotherhood" of sorts, but then again...who the heck is going to want to work with him?

I think Volume 3 will be the Company (joined by Mohinder, HRG, and possibly Maya) against the people who want to bring it down (Peter, Matt, and probably Claire). Sylar will be his own faction, since he has enough powers to stand up against anyone, and no specials would want to partner with a guy who'd take their brains, anyway.

am i the only 1 thinking since the "Original 12" are pretty much seen to be villains we might find out a bit more about them or is this just wishful thinking

I think there will be more than just the Original 12 to contend with, according to the interview:

"We've introduced a cadre of them over the course of the show and we're going to see them rise up," Kring says. "Just as the heroes have found each other to save the world, the villains will do the same with the opposite intent." And their numbers may be legion. One sorta surprising villain in this from Kristin from Eonline:

Three Heroes Have Fallen—Who Will Rise? We all know Claire's blood can save the world and pretty much everyone in it, so who'll get the hot cheerleader injection (wait, that sounded dirty) and come back to the show? Based on what I'm hearing from inside sources, here's where I'd put my money...
Ali Larter

Ali Larter: According to Heroes insiders, Niki is not expected to return to the show. But her devilish alter ego, Jessica? Oh yeah, we'll see her as soon as the show comes back to the beloved airwaves—when the strike is through! At least, that's the plan according to sources who tell me producers had "done all they could do" with Niki. Micah is not gonna be happy. But at least he'll have Monica...
David Anders

David Anders: I'd bet my beloved, signed Hiro poster that Hiro's sworn nemesis will return. (I've seen that '90s flick The Vanishing and know people can be dug up after being buried alive! Maybe we can even get Kiefer Sutherland to do the digging!) Sources tell me it's not set in stone, but the tentative plan is for Adam Monroe to be back to torment our favorite squinty teleporter—i.e., the "carp." Here's hoping he does.
Adrian Pasdar

Adrian Pasdar: I've heard the production and writing staff is somewhat split as to whether Nathan should return to the show. Allow me to be the first to say WTF? Heroes without the brothers would be like Prison Break or Brothers & Sisters without the brothers: a waste of time! Surely Claire's blood can save her own father, right?! Let's say a little prayer for the older Petrelli, shall we?

Also in this episode...

Peter's powers—picked a peck of pickled peppers? How great is Milo Ventimiglia mixing up electricity, radiation, telekinesis, teleportation and mind reading? If Volume III: Villains is about Peter vs. Sylar, then sign me up!

Did anyone else sense a little Elle-Mohinder chemistry? Matt, don't look now, but you might have some competition!

Instant postep spec on the Internet is that HRG shot Nathan, as his side of the deal with the Company to protect Claire.

What happens when Micah becomes a sad little kid with no parents and a lot of power?

From reader Gerald: "How did Claire's blood fix HRG's glasses? Is there a LensCrafters at Primatech?" Ha.

hey guys i have a quick question. what if the hulk suddenly appeaces in hero and fight peter. then peter take his power and use it. will peter become huge and green too?

chances are no the hulks power came from radiation the heroes powers do not (as far as we no and it would be lame if it did)

That came out of left field.

I could not be more excited for volume three. The title "Villains" just tells you it will be great. That damn strike really needs to end now.

I guess vol 3 will be an evil version of the 3rd season. With the bad guys finding each other, forming their own legion of doom I guess. Tehn by the season final some kind of epic big fight with some of the heros. Then by vol 4 we'll get the really big fights.

Anyone else notice in the room where the virus was being kept. There were other pieces of material being held. I saw a hand of cards, a pair of daggers and some other items i can't recall. Anyone think those materials were taking from 'villains' of the past.

^One looked like a model of a brain.

The dagger looked like the one St. Joan is holding here:

So is this volume going to be called Villains but focus on anything but, much like Volume 2 was called Generations but focused more on a crying immigrant and West's corny dialogue than anything about the original 12? :cwink:

They certainly could have put more of the twelve in there. Like, you know, actually telling us Kaito and Angela's abilities. But still a good season. or volume.

They should have Niki survive the fire, only to have her come back as Jessica, one of the villains of Vol. 3.

Now that would be awesome.

^That would be ill, and they should keep her behind the scenes until a bit later in the game.

Jessica wasnt evil enough although maybe another alter ego that knew nothing of micah and was also evil could be entertaining because personally i just want someone who does this stuff without reason or rhyme just purely for the joy of killing

I was thinking the heroes would go public and use the items in the room as costumes/identity thingies. i was hoping peter would grab the cards and go gambit.

that would b terrible all the time its a secret theres an element of omg that could happen but if they go public it would be irritating and focus on them fitting in ect

I couldn't agree more. I just watched the final episode and all it did was make me hunger for more. :p I am officially hooked.

I really want to see an injustice league or something down the line.
