LINK TO PART 1 (1990-1994)
LINK TO PART 2 (1995-1999)

The thread is simple. This is the five Oscar winners for the years 2000-2004. Select the winners in each category, and at the end of the month I will count the votes to see who is selected the best out of ‘’the best.’’

Note: PLEASE DO NOT VOTE FOR FAVORITES! Vote logically and honest.

Man, the Original Song category is pretty poor with no Alan Menken.

Minor note: You constantly misspell "Best Actor" as "Best Acotr".

These choices make me look incredibly biased towards the Lord of the Rings trilogy but after adoring the movies and watching the vast amount of making-of material that accompanies the films and respecting the sheer amount of artistry and work that went into everything, I had to vote for them. From decorating the undersides of chairs that would never be seen, embroidering the insides of the actors costumes with heraldry, to building Meduseld itself atop a mountain miles from civilisation, there was so much care put into adapting Tolkien's work for the screen. The films continue to wow me and draw me back for more viewings.

This was a much stronger group of films than the late 90s, but it was just dominated by Lord of the Rings and it shows up here. For most of these it is The Return of the King, but I did pick Two Towers for visual effects because that was the one that introduced us to Gollum, the most important visual effect creation of the last decade.

Keep voting people, there are some draws as of now, and every vote might be the decisive one.

Last call. We have some nasty draws in some of the categories, so every vote counts. I will keep the voting open the entire Tuesday (6.9.11). Than I will post the winners, and PART 4.

Keep voting. Need at least one or two more votes to break the draws.

VOTING CLOSED!
