I'll probably take my time to vote as there are a couple that I want to see first. I don't know how many movies from 2009 I'd consider great films, but there are a bunch that I'd at least consider good to very good. It wasn't hard to fill out the poll.

Its only fair, if every voter has seen each one of those movies....which i think no one has... :o :oldrazz:

^ oh i'll still vote, even though i've only seen a handful of them.

I still need to see star trek and The hurt locker. and Inglorious Bastards. Those seem to be the big ones i haven't seen yet.

Basterds, no doubt. I enjoyed Avatar like no other, but it has a fair amount of significant problems, which prevented it from being the best of the year. I've yet to see a a few other on the list, too.

For me, I'd like to see Avatar, Moon, A Serious Man, and Sin Nombre before voting. Luckily, three of those are available on DVD as of tomorrow and Avatar isn't exactly going anywhere.

Avatar, I suppose...though Inglourious Basterds isn't too far behind it.

Well alot of those movies I have yet to see but I voted anyways, hope it wasn't a bad choice! I really enjoyed Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince along with Coraline and Up, but in the end I chose something that completely surprised me, Star Trek. I'm not much a Star Trek fan but that movie was one of the best movies I have seen in a long time.

Haven't we had a thread like this before? around new years maybe?

Come to think of it last decade was mostly known for remakes and reboots. As long as the studios are making money from rehashing the same stuff for the younger generation who hasn’t experienced a particular movie or franchise when it was initially released. I don’t see this trend slowing down anytime soon unfortanetely. :csad:

Watchmen was my favourite movie of 2009. Avatar and District 9 were close behind though.

I absolutly loved District 9, but i had to give the edge to Inglorious Basterds, because watching nazis die in obnoxious ways is just too great to pass up. That and Christoph Waltz is fantastic.

Sherlock Holmes was my favorite.

I am Torn between Avatar and UP :wow:

District 9 gets it for me, although Moon, Inglorious Bastards, Watchmen, Avatar and Star Trek were all amazing as well.

Drag Me To Hell and Public Enemies were also very good.

With the Oscars coming up and several movies just recently or in the coming weeks hitting home video, I'm thinking of extending this poll through March with the big final poll in April. Thoughts?

I'm going to say Avatar, just because out of all the movies that came out last year, it's the one that I enjoyed the most (saw it four times).

Inglourious Basterds. There are a few I haven't seen that look promising, but I know I won't see them before the poll ends and I doubt they'll top Basterds.

it was a toss up between AVATAR, D9, and Watchmen but im giving a slight edge to AVATAR

Has there been a poll for 2009 films that were covered by Superherohype?

I still haven't seen a few of the movies on this list but my vote went towards Basterds. I doubt any of the movies I haven't seen will be better.

Are you going to take all of these results and create a poll in the year 2100 to determine the winner? :hehe:
