WALK HARD trailer

no, dane cook is not in this movie. and im not gonna turn this in to a dane cook thread, but he was pretty good for what he was in mr.brooks. and i used to dig his albums before the whole frat crowd kinda became his thing. :meanie: actually i thought he was pretty good in dan in real life too. actually anything where he isnt on the poster.

The only one I hate is Jack Black as McCartney. He doesnt even resemble him...
So? Jack White doesn't resemble Elvis either. That makes it funnier. Especially Jack Black's line "You're supposed to be the quiet one, so how about you shut the f**k up?"

:csad: That is sad...is he in this movie though? I will get up and leave if Dane Cook is in this movie.
No, Dane Cook isn't in this.

ah, almost forgot about jack white as elvis. seeing him as elvis in the trailer almost had me spending 8 bucks there and then.

I saw this today. Funny, funny movie. My favorite scene had to be Dewey visiting The Beatles in India. However, I did notice some of the scenes from the trailer were missing from the movie, like Dewey punching Patrick Duffy and the sausage commercial ("it's not Cox unless I say it tastes like Cox"). I'm expecting an extended version on DVD.

But Patrick Duffy is in the movie? Or no?

A-

This movie kicked so much ass, it was ridiculous! I AM ZEUS! The "Let's Duet" song especially was priceless. In my dreams your blowin' me.....some kisses. LOLZ:grin:

Full frontal for all the closet homophobes. :o

Dude this movie is going to rock just like Anchorman and Ricky Bobby did.

Who doy ou think is funny then Mr.Genius? Dane Cook?
Dane Cook? That moron is as funny as cancer.
Look you can and will flame me all you want. I'm just saying that this movie will without a doubt have the same tired unfunny jokes that were in 40 year old virgin, anchorman, ricky bobby everything Vince Vaughn ever did, and 100 other lame dick and fart comedies. the difference, this one is about music.
I just want to know why you are so amped to see this?

You keep playing the "dick and fart" card, yet you STILL haven't told us what your favorite comedies are. Let me guess...you're a romantic comedy fan, aren't you? Big fan of the Hugh Grant movies, right? :cwink:

Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Shawn of the Dead
Dylan Moran- Like Totally
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
MST3K

Happy?

I happen to like all of those, too (except for "Like Totally"-never heard of it). But the only film from that that I think is funnier than "Walk Hard" is "Monty Python and the Holy Grail".

Cancer isn't funny?....But..I like making jokes about cancer. It's made me some cash along the way :csad:

I got this condition called a funnyboneitis. Symptoms include having a twisted sense of humor and enjoying euphoric feeling after long, loud belly laughs. Doctor said if I didn't see it, I might not make it through christmas.

Ok now onto my rough review. I give it a 3 out of 5.
Throughout the film it's obvious that it was written by 2 people and not in the good way. At times it seems like the movie isnt sure what it wants to be. Is it a comedy in the vein of Talledega Nights etc or more akin to Best in Show etc?
It does a great job of making fun of the bio flicks of musicians but at the same time it does a disservice to itself because of this because like I said, its not sure what it should be.
There are a TON of great moments/lines/laughs and it is worth going to see. Unfortanatly the film does fall a bit short. You can tell when this movie is really working and when it isnt. It does seem like they didn't have faith in John c at times which is sad because he is always great and was one of the most enjoyable parts of Talledega.
Yes, a lot of stuff from the trailer dosent show up (including a part I was looking so forward to, "...But I know what happened to YOU Patrick Duffy!") or different takes are used (and not good takes either :() and it is really annoying whenever an actual musician is o nscreen (like Buddy Holly, Elvis, the Beatles) because they are always saying the charatcers full name and it takes you out of the movie a bit. Example :

Dewey-"Wow is that true John Lennon?"
John-"Indeed it is Dewey. Why would I, John Lennon, from the Beatles, lie?"

(This is paraphrased but those who saw the movie will know what I mean)

I garuntee the DVD is going to be leaps and bounds ahead of the theatrical but stil check this oput if your a fan of these types of films or music in genreal.

This movie was flippin' brilliant
I guess you will like it more if you know about classic rock and roll, folk, country, etc...
Man, I loved it SO much

I guess the joke just went right over your head. That was some of the funniest stuff in the whole movie.

No the joke didn't go over my head. It got annoying simple as that. It wasn't just used in the beatles scene it was EVERYTIME a "cameo" was made by a musician. It was used when Big Bopper,Buddy Holly,Elvis,The Beatles etc...all of them.

I read that there was a 4 hour cut (like Anchorman) and the studio cut out most of the 70s stuff (Patrick Duffy) because they didn't think "the kids" would get the jokes.:whatever:

what your funnyboneitis didn't allow you to see the "humor" in those **** scenes?

Man . . . you're obviously not getting it. It went WAY over your head. It's satirizing all the cameos in Ray and Walk the Line.

i felt watching a comedy...and decided to watch this one. it did sure did surpass my low expectation. i thought it was a great parody of the musician biopic. loved the performance of John C. Reilly, Tim Meadows, and the cameo.

Kinda funny considering that it's an R-rated movie.

Every studio says that kids aren't allowed, but they know that their older friends and family will get them in.

So they can put a penis in a movie, but they can't put Patrick Duffy in a movie? Where's the justice? :cmad:
