First reported this past April, Warner Bros. is moving forward with the project formerly referred to as Headshot with Walter Hill directing and Sylvester Stallone starring. Now it has been announced that Sung Kang has joined the project as well and that the film with be jointly produced by Dark Castle Entertainment, IM Global and After Dark Films.

Set to begin production in Louisiana this month, the film is based on the graphic novel Bullet to the Head, written by Matz and illustrated by Colin Wilson. The movie tells the story of a New Orleans hitman (Stallone) and a New York City cop who form an alliance to bring down the killers of their respective partners.

The project will re-team Stallone with producer Joel Silver, who worked with him on Demolition Man and Assassins. Silver also worked with Hill on 48 Hours, Warriors and the television series "Tales From the Crypt."

Though the project was, initially, said to be titled Headshot, the most recent reports from the studio suggest that this was merely a working title.

Kang's role is currently unspecified, but could potentially be that of the New York City cop. Kang is best known playing Han in the three most recent sequels to The Fast and the Furious, a character he originated with director Justin Lin in 2002's Better Luck Tomorrow.

I strangely couldn't find a thread on this despite Sly already being signed on.

Cool. Glad to see him get more work. He's got an awesome presence. Maybe he is the guy that is replacing Thomas Jane in the film.

I'm glad Sung Kang is getting more roles.

Thomas Jane gets Walter Hill, Enter Joel Silver... He get's booted. Ah, Joel Silver you a-hole. Kang is pretty awesome though.

Wait.. an Asian actor finally gets to play the lead cop in an American film?

Its cool to see an Asian dude get a lead in an american movie that isn't kung fu related

I'm just thrilled to see Walter Hill direct another movie. I figured he'd be winding down at this point in his life, but he's not.

I've been waiting for this movie for a while. Sung Kang is a good enough actor, but someone I have any interest at all in seeing team with Sly. As a character Han from the Fast/Furious franchise is completely overrated and I never noticed who Kang was in WAR, Die Hard 4 or Ninja Assassin. The guy's a great supporting player, but he's not interesting enough to be a lead. IMHO. How Silver thinks Kang would make for a more successful co-lead than Thomas Jane I have no idea.

I'll give Kang benefit of the doubt. He might proves it well.

Don't know, Jane is such a plain guy, I don't think he fits into the buddy cop movie genre that good. But if Stallone and Hill have that opinion, I will trust them more than Silver.

"Fairly Legal" star Sarah Shahi will play Sylvester Stallone's daughter in director Walter Hill's upcoming action thriller that was previously titled "Headshot."

Stallone will play a New Orleans hitman who teams with a New York City detective in a high-stakes investigation that leads from the dingy back alleys of New Orleans all the way to the power corridors of Washington, D.C. The unlikely duo, brought together by two vicious murders, take on all who stand in their way, and are willing to sacrifice everything to exact revenge.

Sung Kang (Fast Five) co-stars in the Warner Bros. Pictures release, which starts filming later this month in Louisiana.

The film is based on Matz and Colin Wilson's graphic novel "Bullet to the Head" and was adapted by Alessandro Camon.

Jason Momoa May Be The Villain

So I'm hearing that Jason Momoa, hot off of playing the role of Khal Drogo in the even hotter GAME OF THRONES (which just finished it's first season)...

...has been cast in the bad guy role of KEEGAN in the Sylvester Stallone/Walter Hill Untitled pic formerly known as Head Shot.

The story centers on a New Orleans hitman (Stallone) who teams up with a Gotham cop to take down the killers of their respective partners. The film is based off the graphic novel "Bullet to the Head" created by Colin Wilson and Matz. Alessandro Camon wrote the script based off the graphic novel.

Sylvester Stallone stars in the upcoming production along with the likes of Sung Kang ("Fast Five").

"Fairly Legal" star Sarah Shahi will also be joining the cast as Stallone's daughter.

Stay tuned as more develops...

Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje ("Lost," "Oz"), Christian Slater and Holt McCallany ("Lights Out") have joined Sylvester Stallone in director Walter Hill's untitled action thriller (previously known as "Headshot") at Warner Bros. and Dark Castle.

Stallone will play a New Orleans hitman who teams with a New York City detective (played by Sung Kang) in a high-stakes investigation that leads from the dingy back alleys of New Orleans all the way to the power corridors of Washington, D.C. The unlikely duo, brought together by two vicious murders, take on all who stand in their way, and are willing to sacrifice everything to exact revenge.

Akinnuoye-Agbaje has been cast as the main villain, a powerful attorney who's trying to cover up his scam to exploit poor neighborhoods that have been ravaged by Hurricane Katrina.

Slater will play a local handler who acts as a middleman, while McCallany will play a cop who's partners with Kang.

Alessandro Camon (The Messenger) adapted the graphic novel "Bullet to the Head," created by the singularly monikered Matz and Colin Wilson.

Fantastic all around cast. It just needs Walter Hill staple bad guy James Remar!

Axe fight! Looks like Hill is going back to Streets of Fire.

Rocking the Demolition Man haircut. I approve. I hope this can hit the level of Hill's top tier flicks, 48 HRS, The Warriors, Extreme Prejudice and Undisputed.

I didn't realize the tats from the Expendables were real, I thought they were just for the movie.
