I am actually glad to see Woo and Darcy back. This series has made me like Darcy (I thought she was annoying in Thor: The Dark World). Sometimes the MCU introduces a non-hero side character in an earlier project and doesn't bring that character back. Well we have Woo and Darcy back for WandaVision and Abomination back for She Hulk.
Dr. Darcy Lewis-Woo has a ring to it.
If Vision comes back by the end are we thinking either the white ghost design or just a modified version of his classic suit? There's been some nice modern variations in the comics on his look that don't change too much, they sorta paid homage to the white look with him dead in Infinity War. I guess if it happens it all depends on the context.I think we will see Lewis, Woo and New Vision all joining SWORD by series end.
Well we were at least able to gleam that Darcy became a doctor, I'd think it's most likely she wasn't snapped. I don't recall if there were any timeline hints about Woo there though as that movie was right before the snap.Other non-hero side characters have seemingly disappeared from the MCU, but not in the case of Darcy and Woo. I'd like to know what happened though between the last time we saw both in the MCU and their appearance in WandaVision.

Well, at the very least Woo has had time since AM&W to perfect the card trick. My bet would be that he didn't get snapped either. He and Darcy have great chemistry, though, wouldn't mind seeing them as a couple if we get more SWORD content going forward.Well we were at least able to gleam that Darcy became a doctor, I'd think it's most likely she wasn't snapped. If audiences watched the first three episodes on an old TV (eg CRT) that isn't widescreen, would the picture ratio of it actually fill the whole screen to give a full screen without the black bars on the sides of the picture? Has anyone tried watching it that way if you even own an old TV? And would the normal widescreen format look more cut off with larger black bars on top and bottom on an old TV?
Or, with the way they filmed, would you still see the black bars on the sides regardless of the TV you had so emphasise the fact that it is filmed in a different format even if watching on an old TV? Otherwise you wouldn't see the side black bars surely if you didn't have a widescreen TV.
On an old 4x3 TV the native 16x9image would be geometrically distorted (squeezed taller) and would have bars on the side (which are a baked in part of the 16x9 image). It would take image processing to “unsqueeze” it and crop the bars from the sides, and then the scenes with the aspect ratio changes would be massively cropped.
So the black bars on the side are built into the image and wouldn't automatically format to the old 4x3 TV as it would for an actual show filmed in that aspect ratio? So they didn't really film in 4x3 but just made it look like it was by sticking the side bars?

Right. It’s just like the 2.35:1 (or “scope”) movies have black bars on the top and bottom on our 16x9 (1.78:1) TV’s. The image is natively 16x9 and the black bars on the top and bottom are baked in to give the wider aspect ratio.
The native shape of all HDTV (and 4K UHD) is 16x9. Whenever the image looks wider (bars on top and bottom) or narrower (bars on the sides) it’s because those bars are part of the image to create the desired aspect ratio of the active image area.
Its been said that the Mind stone gave her some abilities like putting nightmares into the Avengers heads manipulating them, but her core reality wrapping powers she was actually born with.
That's why Marvel is treating her as officially the MCU's first Mutant. And as we all know, Mutants are born with their powers, so Kevin Feige slipped us a freebie there.
Right. Well, Theoretically you could watch these on an square TV with it looking “normal” if you have a source device or separate video processor that could manipulate the image in the desired way to crop off the black bars and readjust the geometry to not be distorted on a 4x3 TV. Those are expensive. But it wouldn’t work by just connecting to and old TV without any processing help. But as I said, the aspect ratio switches that are used in these episodes would then be messed up.HDTV and 16x9 screens didn't exist back in the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s. Can't remember about the 90s. So if I still had an old TV from the 80s or possibly early 90s then I wouldn't ever be able to experience the first 3 WandaVision episodes as it would've looked as if I were watching an old 70s or 80s sitcom?
I'm guessing they could only film in one format or the other, or at least only present the finished film in one format or the other and couldn't start in 4x3 and switch in the middle to 16x9?
