WandaVision WandaVision General Discussion Thread

I wonder if Monica gets sucked into Westview and forgets who she is until Wanda mentions her brother.

I think Episode 4 will end right after Episode 3 after showing SWORD's view of the first three episodes.

I agree with that I think this episode will show pretty much all the things S.W.O.R.D was trying to do on the other side of this universe leading up to the end of Episode 3.

Let's be honest, a lot of comic book stories are made to create artificial "drama" in order to drive up interest amongst readers in incredibly superficial ways. DECADES of character history can freely be ignored. I'm STILL salty about what Marvel Comics did to Wanda, Quicksilver and Vision over the years. They're practically now irrelevant in the comics, because writers and editors at Marvel "hate" them. Marvel Studios are FINALLY fixing the errors of the comics division, and people now want to bring those mistakes to the movies/shows?! I'm NOT okay with Wanda being retconned into being Magneto's daughter. I'm NOT okay with Vision's origins being changed into making him a duplicate of Wonder Man. Just to make their origins "comic book accurate." Both their origin stories are fine the way they are. Bring on the nerd rage I say.

I will say that I do not like all adaptations made by the movies. I think it was a grave error to turn Superman and Batman into murders and have them commit crimes against humanity in their films. And that was done to make them "edgelordy" for no good reason. And the general public rightly rejected those characterizations.

The great thing about comics is that for many of the characters there is so much material that a creative can pick the Glengarry leads while dumping the rest and still be true to the source material. Are Wanda's parents the Maximoffs, the Whizzer & Miss America, Magneto & Magda or (in her somewhat recent solo series) Marya, the Original Scarlet Witch? It's all canon, baby!

I'm all in for different adaptations and interpretations of the source material as long as the 'spirit' of it is intact. I think that's key. And why something like Superman's portrayal in BvS was so understandably divisive. There's only so much you get to change before turning the original material into something else, completely disconnected.

Yes, take all the best parts of over eighty years of publication history and use them for the movies/shows and get rid of the nonsense that came along with it. And there's a lot of garbage in there. Only in comic books could people have like a dozen parents.

That's right. And people who are not even overly familiar with the source material will be able to sense something is wrong if the characters are changed too much. I think making characters like Daredevil, Superman, and Batman into murderers in the movies were not wise decisions, and to make the Amazing Spider-Man into a jerk was just plain idiotic. Audiences are not dumb.

Episode 4.

The opening scene was incredible. DAMN

Teyonah is amazing. Can't wait to see her in Captain Marvel 2.

THAT Vision scene caught me off guard.

So this was correct. I think it was a pretty needed (and awesome) way to catch us up on what the F has been happening whilst just giving us a lot more questions.

Things are starting to come into place now. I enjoyed the backstory of Monica, the debut of S.W.O.R.D, the perspective of the real world being effected by Wanda's manipulation of reality.

Wow, they gave us a lot more answers than I was anticipating.
What is keeping this show highly watchable is Wanda's mental stability and what is happening/could happen to her.

Episode 4 is the best episode by far. It's Monica heavy, but it should be. I still hope she gets her powers by the end of the series.

they’ll probably tease that due the cosmic particles within the world Wanda has created. But I don’t expect her to display them until Captain Marvel 2!

Probably. I don't think it would be any good if she appears in Captain Marvel 2 without any powers but somehow Kamala Khan has powers before she does.

Since Westview is apparently in New Jersey, as is Kamala, there could even be some link there somehow.

I thought it was interesting that one SWORD agent went into Westview in a Hazmat suit (and it became a beekeeper suit) and yet Monica didn't wear any suit to protect her when she got sucked in. Likely due to the fact that she wasn't prepared to go in there, but still interesting.

Major warning for everyone!
On Twitter there seems to be various major plot spoilers (actual pictures and videos about the upcoming episodes), which are not in the actual sneak peak or other promo material. I didnt saw them but I saw four accounty in my timeline complaining about they saw it accidently and warning the others. I didnt research it because I want to enjoy the show the way its intended, so I cant say much more. I just want to warn you guys too. :yay: :yay:

Well we're definitely coming into a version of this comic where The Scarlet Witch and Vision are going to fight to save their home.

I'm really happy they answered a bunch os questions already. That was nice.

Also loved the different point of view.

Just missed seeing more of Wanda a little.
