Why do you do all of your X’s like that?

Its a reference to the episode titles of the Gifted. And I like doing it ever since.

They did kinda halfway-skip the 90s. I could see some kid of pastiche of 'Full House' and 'Step by Step' but they'd need like 6 more characters to move into the house. Or maybe a 'Boy Meets World' story focusing on the twins, but we got so much of that with the Halloween ep. Is it possible none of the big sitcoms from that time were quite the right fit, or slowed down the plot too much?

EDIT: Wait, of course: Sabrina the Teenage Witch. They could've riffed that easily.

Absolutely loved this show and i cant wait for the finale next friday. I really appreciated how different this show was.

Two of the biggest sitcoms from the 90s, Friends and Frasier, wouldn't have been right for this show. Marvel were only going for family-oriented sitcoms, and not the adult family type like Frasier. Boy Meets World wouldn't have really fit that exactly either.

It definitely isn't for everyone. But among other things:

1) It was the first new Marvel content in over a year.
2) It appeared the kind of quirky and weird that is popular and people were intrigued about WTF is going on with two Avengers in a sitcom especially when one is dead. And garnered an audience interested in the MCU doing something different.
3) It got good reviews from critics.
4) There isn't a huge amount of new content.
5) Most importantly the weekly schedule and the titbits laid out every week built interest and hype so people who didn't bother at first decided to check it out. And for the most part that seems to have paid off. We'll see if they stick the landing.

It's really super obvious why an inventive, well made TV show on a rapidly growing streaming service from the most successful studio in Hollywood starring characters featured in multiple wildly successful movies that riffs on beloved classic sitcoms might be able to garner an audience bigger than, say, History of Swear Words Season 1. Or that Tiger King show.

Sometimes stuff we don't like is popular. Crazy!

I think that WandaVision also tapped into the zeitgeist. People are hungry for nostalgia, and it served this up in spades with homages to beloved sitcoms which feel like a comfortable and familiar pair of slippers.

And then much of WandaVision echoes the general feeling of the world right now with many being under quarantine or lockdown and trapped in an endless cycle of existence where many have turned to old shows to fill their time if there's nothing new they have been able to watch.

Lets not forget the simple fact that WandaVision is loaded down with amazing acting.

People want content to pass the time with and there hasn't been much since before this time last year. Even Baby Yoda was ramped up a ton. Granted he was awesome but there just wasn't anything else that came out.

Now we've got this and it's high quality per Marvel's usual standards so people are latching on pretty ferociously.

The reason this was highly anticipated was because it was the first new project from the MCU since Spider-Man Far From Home back in 2019. Black Widow and Eternals were supposed to be released last year, but they were moved to this year for obvious reasons. I think Eternals makes their release date, not sure about Black Widow.

They are loading up on a ton of material this year.

I woudnt mind to trade an epic fight in very very emotional scenes between Wanda and Vision where she accept his death and ends the hex. The only little worry I have is that Hawkeye didnt show up since he recruited her (and to promote his own show in fall) and they have a special connection. But I guess thats a Avengers didnt assemble to help there crewmate in a solo movie situation.

Yeah, that's more important to me than the stuff about Agatha, Billy, Tommy, Fietro, Monica, Doctor Strange and SWORD. Since Vision is gonna be "retiring" soon, let's have Wanda and him have some nice moments together before WandaVision concludes (by the way, I think this will happen).

Finally all caught up. The show started out okay, but it really kicked off in the fourth episode. I've always loved Wanda and this show made me appreciate her more as a powerhouse. Sis would be a formidable villainess if she puts her mind to it, I'm glad she's (sometimes) one of the good guys.

I like Vision, but I don't think the show did much with him (makes sense since this show is more about Wanda's trauma). The twins are adorable, hope they get to stay. Agnes was hilarious and perfectly played by Kathryn Hahn. I hope she's not a one and done character. Sorry, still don't care about Darcy.

And finally Monica! I love her so much. Parris played her so well, IMO she's the breakout star of the show. I can't wait to see her in Captain Marvel 2. She fits so well into the MCU, it's almost like she's always been there.

I'm still holding out hope that we'll still get our Pietro back. That was what I was hoping for when they announced the show.

Sadly, I think ATJ will never appear in the MCU again. This was his last shot, and I think that opportunity has now passed.

They're not going to introduce Reed Richards in this series. Let's say they wanted to set the FF in the 60s. Having Reed showing up would force them into a modern setting before they're sure they want to commit to that.

They could've had him in the flashbacks. I suppose there's still a chance he could appear in a cameo next episode.

I think they totally blew their chances by not including him in Episode 8. That was truly a wasted opportunity in my opinion. I don't think he'll appear in Episode 9. Credits take up like half of each episode, and I don't expect this one to be any different. There's not enough time to include him in my view. I wonder how ATJ feels with Olsen, Bettany, Hahn, Peters, and Parris having the time of their lives doing this show, while he's on the outside looking in. That's REALLY gotta suck.
