WandaVision WandaVision: Season 1, Episode 5 “On a Very Special Episode...” (spoilers)

I want this to be the case, but he literally hasn’t been cast yet. More likely Riri Williams.

Not that we know of. I think this show is proving a LOT has been going on behind the scenes since Endgame. I would not be surprised if the F4 are cast and theyre just holding it.

i’m putting good money the engineer is Reed.

if reed richards shows up...

If Reed or any of the other FF were already cast, it would be virtually impossible for it not to have been leaked by now through reliable trade outlets like Variety and Deadline. Such major casting would be generally very difficult to keep completely under wraps. Of course, that’s not to say there aren’t exceptions to the rule. After all, Marvel managed to keep both Blade and the Shang-Chi castings secret until it was announced at Comic-Con. So it’s not impossible. But there’s a difference between keeping casting secret long enough to announce it at a fan event before you shot anything, and keeping it secret long enough that most viewers learn about it as they watch it for the first time in a movie or show. Marvel can manage the former, but not the latter. So I seriously doubt it’s Reed she’s referring to.

Oh my god whhaaaat.

So Monica has her powers now, that's interesting. But why she didn't want to talk about Carol is weird.

Wanda is scary af, but I feel sorry for her. And she's got a point. There is nothing anyone can offer her that she didn't create in her world. That being said, what the hell made her crack and get Vision's body?

This show is awesome.

They aren't replacing ATJ. This is the FoXmen QS and when everything is done he will go back to his universe, if he can. I doubt he will stay in a universe where everything is different and he doesn't know anyone.
Exactly. I don't know why people are still denying this. There's no way that they would cast an actor who played a different version from the character (even in the same uniform), just for shiggles. It's absolutely some multiverse shenanigans, denying that is ridiculous.

Carol ended up visiting Maria after the snap happened and spent time with her until she died, but Monica doesn't know any of that cause she was blipped during that time.

I am not 100 % sold she is really dead to be honest.

@Donner How about Sword tried to use Visions body as a weapon somehow? Would be classic Shield/Sword-organisation twist :cwink:

I’m not gonna lie when they opened the door I was kind of hoping it’d be Ryan Reynolds. It wouldn’t make any sense, of course, but I would’ve laughed so hard if he was the surprise cameo.

And just Ryan Reynolds himself without the Deadpool costume on. He would totally have blast at the fake sitcom shtick this show is going with, and crush so hard.
That makes me think that's what Lizzie Olson was referencing when she said there was a cameo on the level of Luke Skywalker. Deadpool is the only Fox property that has been announced to continue, and it makes me feel like his inclusion in this is the only real segue for him into the MCU.

From her perspective, it was only a few days since Vision had the mind stone ripped from his head.

She was probably mourning, found out where Vision was, broke him out and took the body, repurposed him and then once she'd created her little world, everything just seems perfect for her.

I don't think it's a case of her cracking. It's just her picking up the pieces and continuing on with life, as strange as this new life and circumstances are.

I also realise that Vision isn't quite human, but I didn't think he was so robotic that he could be disassembled like he appears to be in the laboratory scenes.

Loving this series and this episode. A little bummed ATJ is no longer QS but I'm intrigued to see where this is going!

That's a good point I didn't think about that.

It was just at the end of Endgame with Clint she seemed at peace. But who knows.

Grief has a way of manifesting itself in various ways, and honestly I suspect that S.W.O.R.D. was conducting undisclosed experiments with Vision body probably to re-engineer the technology into a weapon and Wanda sense it .

Wow. Thankfully was able to avoid spoilers all day and even my friend telling me the ending was unexpected, I didn't expect Evan Peters. I honestly forgot he was rumored to be in it.

A lot to digest here. They're definitely setting up the Scarlet Witch name, the freaking multiverse has been "broken into" and Vision is figuring things out. Next week should be interesting.

That Hayward guy is a real d--- like Darcy said. Glad Wanda told him, that scene was incredible.

I thought it was going to be Doctor Strange show up at the door at the end, but wow, I got chills. This show just keeps getting better and better.

Wow I was literally shaking with adrenaline at the end of this

”she recast her own brother” is the new “who the hell is Bucky” for jaw dropping moments. What could this mean? Could fassbender turn up? Eventually could famke or even Hugh make an mcu cameo? Great days ahead

Honestly, along with Quicksilver we’ll get Deadpool of course. And, beyond that I’m good. Jackman’s Wolverine would be nice, but not necessary by any means.

With how messy and controversial the last two films were... we need a full on reboot of Mutants.

Great episode. The ending with the recast brother was so funny and such a great moment. Id love to have some of the OG X-men actors running around as multiverse versions of themselves, dont think they'll go that big but great way of starting it. Cant wait to see how the two interact and esp what this means for Mags.

I fully believe that when Wanda said to her sons that she can't bring dead and they stay dead is true. And I fully believe when she said to Vision I dont know how this all started. This two things should contradict each other but they dont. And I fully believe that when she was arguing Vision knock on doorbell and Pietro/Peter QS showing up wasnt her.

My theory is that whatever alternate reality she lives on she didnt create (but she wanted) and she didnt create Vision neither. But my guess is she is partly and willingly in control of those situations, because of her powers. Like moving and controling things which are objects. And she is going along with the flow because that's reality she prefers to live in. Hence why all threats to leave her alone.

It could be she made a deal with "The Devil" which is Mephisto. Part of his powers is aquiring people's souls but cannot subjugate the will of another being without the victim's permission, which is usually done with some form of pact. This is why they cant just leave. So when world she prefers to live in and reality where she can be happy starts to crumble Mephisto just make things happen for her. She wanted and missed her brother back and given you can't bring dead at least not those who are human this guy just plucks one from multiverse. He did something with Vision (I just dont know what) and same goes for twins. I mean I noticed that Wanda truly doesnt control anyone. She couldnt control Geraldine/Monica and moment Wanda noticed that she isnt part of this world she just as admin kicked her out the room. But again she didnt create room. I mean we can same say for beekeeper. She likely did something to him but I dont think she is one controling village.

I think the reason why folks are pushing back is that to date, Feige has run a very tight ship in terms of continuity. There's certainly been some kerfuffles along the way, such as the "8 years later" error in Homecoming, but most of what's been onscreen has fit within a clean narrative.

When you start plucking characters from other cinematic realities the continuity can get quite messy. Is Foxy Pete, who was an INO character in the Kinberg-verse, now the character we recognize from the comics? Is the First Class series, which most of us were happy to see ended, now canon? As Deadpool once said, which version of Professor X are we going with?

Maybe Feige and his team can pull it off but he may be adding some unnecessary comic-book complexity to what has been a clean narrative throughline over more than a decade. So for now I am hoping that Peters is a guy posing as MCU Pietro and not the Fox Version. We shall see.
I really hope he's not Pietro. I don't want him as Wanda's brother. We saw Wanda's brother and this is not him. Our Pietro didn't have much screentime , but I felt his connection with his sister in AOU. I liked xmen Peter well enough, but he's never going to be Wanda's brother to me. I hope Marvel knows most of the fans want MCU Pietro and not this guy. I've already seen many people complaining about this.

If they bring him back, what's stopping them from bringing all the Fox-men back? If they have to link some of the Fox men to the multiverse, I would rather they bring back McAvoy's Charles and Fassbender's Erik.

Pretty sure this is soft shoeing us into the Marvel multiverse. Easing us in gentle.

Fully expect Cumberbatch to turn up before the series end to turn the heat up on the whole thing.

With DC also going multiverse, I hope all this isn’t going to get too confusing for the GA, and the whole thing comes crashing down in on itself.

I mean, it's the ultimate setup for Norm's reference to "she" not be Wanda and when Vision is telling her to stop she doesn't really know how because she's not entirely in control (as we see with Quiksilver).

I get it though. She's thrust into a world where she has Vision and eventually her sons and she likely knows there's something sinister going on, but who wouldn't ignore it and threaten those that try to destroy their home.

But the sons are strange. Are they real? If so, that would be incredible. Reanimating Vision's corpse is one thing, but actually creating life out of nothing is quite the feat.

If they are real, then at least Wanda has family when this is done.
