I realize this is the films forum, but I wasn't sure where the best place was to post this versus poll since there isn't a Marvel TV forum.

Out of the first three MCU Disney+ releases, which one do you think was the best?

Loki (great)
Wandavision (good)
Falcon and Winter Soldier (meh. I don’t give a s*** about your ****ing boat. Bad villains too, but John Walker saved this show)

Loki > Wandavision > Falcon & Winter Soldier

Mind you I liked F&WS (despite some problems I had) but overall the other 2 shows were stronger.

1. Loki
2. WandaVision
3. Falcon and the Winter Soldier

Loki only just barely edges out WandaVision. FATWS is a distant third but I still thought it was good, flaws and all. None of the shows have been on the same level as the best of the MCU films so far but I'll give that a pass since COVID got in the way, plus they were the first ones out of the gate as far as the Disney+ shows go so they're sort of finding their footing. For what it's worth, I still think they're better than the previous pre-Disney+ Marvel shows with the exception of maybe Daredevil.

I would rank them as follows:

1) WandaVision - Innovative storytelling, fantastic acting, lots of comic book goodness, and all the feels. Loved Ralph Bohner, Monica Rambeau and Agatha Harkness. Wished they had left out the "for them" in Monica's final words to Wanda, but I still give it an A grade.

2) Loki - Another terrific entry with fantastic acting and an inventive storyline that takes advantage of the TV format. Mobius was a standout, but I also enjoyed Renslayer, Sylvie and all the Lokis. I didn't care so much for Krazy Kang - I am expecting an upgrade in the next season and Quantumania - but overall very good. B+

3) Falcon and the Winter Soldier - Lots of good stuff here as well, with excellent acting and great new characters like John Walker and Isaiah Bradley. I even liked the boat. But the plot was a mess, and while you can blame some of it on COVID I think much of it falls on the creators. Morgenthau and her team of ethnically diverse pseudo terrorists were hard to either root for or against. They were just there. And I don't know why was Sam was desperate to save young Karli while he was fine with wiping out the guys in the helicopter in Episode #1.

I think the show would have been much improved if the Flag Smashers were restricted to a single episode and we had the great Sam, Bucky & Zemo team hunting down lost super soldier serum in places like an underground fight club and a high end health spa. And have Sharon behave in ways that make sense - Why was the Power Broker risking her life fighting low level thugs and allowing her meal ticket to get murdered? Why did John Walker get his new suit in the same room where he earlier received a dishonorable discharge? Why did Sam let Sharon almost bleed to death? And why didn't someone edit Sam's speech?

I was going to give it a C+, but after remembering the frustrating bits I am knocking it down to a C.

Wandavision is first for me. It is different than anything Marvel Studios has done so far and a unique way to tell a story. I'm not shocked at it's industry love, especially the Emmys.

Loki is a close 2nd and FATWS is 3rd. I actually loved FATWS but Loki & Wandavision are just more intriguing to me.

Loki by a country mile.

FAWS was a chore to sit through and WandaVision was a poor man's Pleasantville or Legion.

If you go to the main forum page, you'll see a TV series section and Marvel TV just below that (after DC TV series).

In any case....
Loki then FATWS and then WandaVision. The latter took like 5 or 6 episodes to go anywhere.

EDIT: One of the mods can move it there if you ask.

Nah it stays here....

But anyway I'm going FATWS first. USAgent really grew on me fast. Loki wasn't good until the end if you ask me. That Kang reveal in the last episode!! :wow: Same with Wandavision. Started out slow AF but got better.

Whether it stays or not........is a tie!

nah there is a Marvel TV section with subforums for each television series, but there is no actual subforum for a collective discussion of Marvel TV as a whole like there is for the films

I liked the concept of WandaVision and really appreciated the sitcom aspects but it felt a bit flat at the end for me.

Loki was a snoozefest and a struggle to get to finish.

Falcon and the Winter Soldier was by far the best of the three.

No skin off my nose, but it still seems more appropriate to the Marvel TV section because, well, they are Marvel TV shows.

Interesting. The only part of WandaVision that I liked was the end. Loki grabbed me immediately.

...I am aware that they are Marvel TV shows. I said everything relevant about this in the OP. But there is no Marvel TV subforum. That's my point. Not one of these shows is more important than the others, so I wasn't gonna post it in any of the WandaVision/Falcon/Loki subforums.

I got your point. It would seem like an easy fix to make, but I don't know exactly how it's done.

We have upcoming, past Marvel series. So.......whatever.

if you got my point then why did you say this thread is more appropriate for the Marvel TV section if you know that a Marvel TV subforum doesn't exist?

I guess the admins don't find it necessary for that subforum, and I guess that's fair. But I think it would help to have a neutral subforum to discuss some of the shows comparatively, just like this subforum allows for

See edit. :funny:

It's nothing personal. :funny:

hmm I'm checking out those forums now, and it seems like the 'past marvel' subforum is just a merge of the Netflix MCU and ABC MCU series. that's interesting because I used to be really active in the Daredevil subforum when there was one

1. Loki (9.1/10) - This is the best of the three for me. And I'd say by a significant margin. This series was sort of the true sequel to Avengers: Endgame in terms of at least Power Ramp. Like, if we need a reason to believe The Avengers are still necessary or that there's powers in the universe greater than Thanos, we definitely have it now. So I think the show is one of the most intriguing for that reason. I also think Tom Hiddleston is most capable of holding his own as a leading man moreso than Mackie/Stan and Olsen/Bettany (to varying degrees of course). Sylvie and Mobius are two of the most interesting characters in Disney+ so far. And that friggen WEIRD love interest. So cool. This show is a head trip in all the best ways.

2. Falcon and The Winter Soldier (8.4/10) - The majority of this ranking comes from Zemo. I love that character, I wish they'd done a smidge more with him but I cannot wait to see him again. And I love Sam and Bucky's chemistry it's pretty damn entertaining.

3. WandaVision (7.9/10) - I do like the show, but I dont know that I can say it was that riveting. Olsen and Bettany gave good performances, the sitcom generational effect was quite interesting, but the first few episodes are so dull. I dont like sitcoms IRL, so idk why i'd want to watch 50 minute versions of 20 minute snoozefests. And the quicksilver "twist" was very anti-climactic.

 There is a Marvel TV forum. That's where all the Marvel shows are.

For me it's WandaVision above all the others. There's no contest. It was one of the most creative shows ever that was full of nostalgia, captured the zeitgeist and had some of the catchiest Marvel theme songs. I loved the sitcom aspect and could've watched it just for that.

Falcon and Winter Soldier would be next. However that dragged and had a weak villain in Karli Morgenthau who should not be inflicted on unsuspecting audiences.

Loki on the bottom. It also dragged in places and the last episode had too much exposition and was unsatisfying.

I prefer watching Wanda and Vision to the others too.

Admit it: you just wanted to see more of Zemo in his bath robe:

1000

OT:

1. Loki
2. WandaVision

3. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

In terms of technical things like Cinematography, location, production quality and costumes - Loki and Falcon easily surpassed Wanda. They looked like movies even if they were some shoddy shots and vfX.

However Wanda was the most entertaining out of the three imo.
