WARD'S TRANSFORMERS ROLE WAS DESTINY
30/01/2007 17:35

American actor ZACK WARD is delighted he's starring in the upcoming TRANSFORMERS movie, because he never had enough money to buy the toys when he was younger. The 36-year-old, who plays DONNELLY in the STEVEN SPIELBERG-produced science fiction film, believes fate handed him his role because a relative worked as a designer for the original 1980s cartoon's toy makers Hasbro. He tells website Skewed + Reviewed, "I like the toys but couldn't afford them as a kid. I didn't care for the cartoon as I thought the animation sucked. I did take my little brother to see the animated movie when he was about five years old and that was cool as hell." He adds, "This will be the next STAR WARS, geeked on by a new generation of nerds and now I am one with their nerdiness. "I love doing stuff like this. It's like being a kid and playing superhero, only the guns, helicopters, F-117 Stealth bombers, F-22 Raptors, and tanks are real."

I wonder what other cartoons he did watch at the time if he thinks TF's animation sucked. GEM? The Snorks? The guy is too old anyway.. 36?... to have watched Transformers I think. So I call B/S.

Don't count on it Zack. :trans:

I doubt your fandom when you say good things about this film when you've read the script

He said already he never liked the original series just the toys. Hard to believe that too because he never actually played with them.

What he's stating is that this new movie will inspire a new cult of TF fanboys that will eventually grow into something as big as Star Wars which will probably never happen.

I think what we're trying to say is

he's lying through his teeth:up:

Transformers is going to be the next Star Wars because of Bay...yeah, uh-huh...I take it he hasn't read the script, or is completely lying.

By the way how can you think the show's animation sucks but the movie rocks...it was animated by the same goddamn people. Unless of course his brush with Transformers was "Carnage in C-Minor".

the animation in the movie was much better

but yeah he has no clue what he's saying

Basically I think Bay put him up to this.

Bay "Hey guys, see fans INVOLVED in the movie love it...see it pleases the fans".

Oh come on, lets be realistic. This movie was never going to reach the highes of films such as Star Wars, LOTR etc. First its Bay, second...... well do we really need a second?

So, he hated the show, never had any of the toys, but it's destiny he's in the movie?:o

This guy sounds like an idiot. Of course he's gonna plug a movie he's in, he wants it to make money so he can come back for the sequel and line his own pockets...and if he hated the cartoon series, why the hell did he want the toys? The love for both, goes hand in hand, imo..
