Warner Bros. Digital Division Announces "Static Shock" Live-Action Project

I actually wouldn't mind WB looking at Shameik Moore for Virgil Hawkins. He's got buzz from that movie Dope coming out of Sundance. The trailers look good too.

Thats actually an excellent idea. I was really hoping static would end up being in TNTs titans but it doesnt look so. But I'm fully on board with Shameik Moore for Static.

Hell yeah! I'll be watching this. Static Shock was an amazing show.

WB/DC is doing EVERYTHING right
Another Superman solo
a Batman solo
Wonder Woman
Aquaman
Green Lantern
Cyborg
The Flash
Justice League
Justice League 2
Batman v Superman
Titans
The Flash (tv)
Arrow
Supergirl
Static!
Constantine
Gotham
Sandman
Lucifer

i probably missed some stuff, but that's an amazing lineup.

Finally WB/DC is measuring up to Marvel's live action efforts. DC is catching up extremely fast

oh man if this ties to Flash/Arrow/Titans, that'd be ****ing amazing. Static on the Titans is a genius idea

really? I don't see it even close to MCU. I agree that the Flash is a great TV series but that sucks that a different guy is doing the role in the film version. the way all of the MCU ties into each other is a comic book lover's dream and DC seems to be wandering around bumping into things. I bet Lucifer wont make it through 1 season or will tank like Constantine did. I think those type of shows need to be on a cable channel or Netflix to be done right.

Smith is fine for Static. His acting is more then decent enough. The kid just gets undue hate on this site for no logical reason. I don't care who his father is an that he's working because of his dad and I don't care about his personal life although I can't imagine who does here but looks wise he'd be a good fit. Yes they can find someone else but Smith is fine and he's also high profile.

LOL have you seen after earth, Karate Kid? he cannot carry a lead role with his acting skills. I LOVE Will Smith movies LOVE them but he is not his daddy. He makes people cringe with his acting.

Jaden isn't that bad. That Karate Kid remake was good in my opinion; I think it's a better film than the original. He is a bit annoying in real life it seems. I'll say that.

The original KK was a classic for its time. Mr. myagi "Wipe on" is a reference still used today in everyday conversation and in a tone of hip hop lyrics. The Jackie Chan KK will not be remembered as such.

I'm in the minority but I prefer MOS to anything in the MCU, I think that DC will probably top the MCU in terms of quality, but well see if the DCCU can make as much money.

I don't really care which is more remembered by pop culture to be honest. The 2010 film has the better story, setting, fights, and cinematography. Plus, the acting was on par with, and sometimes better than, the original film. Dre's story is much more interesting than Daniel's because he doesn't just move across the country, he moves across the world. He has to adapt to an entirely different culture. This is just my opinion though and BTW it's "wax on"

I hear a rumor Jaden Smith was up for the role.

Rumor has been around for months. It just resurfaced because of TJWs comments. I'm actually getting on bosrd with wheels pick of Shameik Moore.

I hope the show premieres within the next eight months.

They announced months ago that there would be news at comic con so hopefully that is still on schedule

DC needs to start having legit movie scripts, I read a script on Amazon competition. Its an origins story that turns out to be about Captain Marvel!! These are the types of scripts DC needs to make. Its called CMS; guessing it means Captain Marvel Shazam?
