Warrior

That could be a problem then. It's possible that the movie could skip out on several countries.

You might have to wait until next year if the film is a success here in the states. If your country isn't given a release date by December then you may have to watch the film other way.

Quite delighted that this film is scoring well with the critics and general audience. :thumbs up:

Yeah, it's a big possibility that the movie won't released here, sadly, it's pretty common that we're getting movies a few months later. For example, movies such as Carnage, Mission: Impossible IV and War Horse will not be released until next year. :argh:

Redbelt was more of a drama with some MMA. Good drama though.

Chiwetel Ejiofor was amazing in that movie. I was enticed the entire time by his performance.

To be honest though, apart of me HATES the film. I severely loath the Gracie family and their propaganda

Redbelt was alright but David Mamet was ****ing clueless about how to shoot MMA.

Never Back Down is a **** film, but what it did show is that MMA fights can be shot as a way to be narratively compelling in a film.

Ugh, Never Back Down was a disgrace. I will never forgive myself for watching it. I punched myself in the gut right after I watched it.

Redbelt was a solid film but I still want the Gracie family assassinated.

They're touting this as a male chick flick.

Yeah it's kind of like that, but it is good. Finally a "good" MMA movie that portrays MMA not as some illegal underground fight club BS. I was happy to see that as well as good actors. Jennifer Morrison is great. Nick Nolte has never been saltier.

I saw this last night. Really really good movie. The whole cast is excellent, the standouts being Nick Nolte and Tom Hardy.

Couldn't agree.

It was a beautiful movie IMO. It used MMA as a backdrop to show that a warrior isn't simply someone who is proficient in fighting but someone who has something to fight for and is willing to give everything to attain that.

Great message.

I will not give my girlfriend the satisfaction of seeing me cry during a film (she does all the time, and I poke fun at her for it). But good Lord did I come close. Several times.

Yes, the cliches are there. Yes, the ending is predictable (as far as who wins). But so much more than the impressive and brutal fight scenes, this film is carried on the shoulders of Edgerton, Hardy, and Nolte. If you need a reason to see this film, those three performances are it. These guys gave the most heartfelt, sincere, and just downright human performances I've seen all year.

You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll cheer, and by the end, you'll feel like you need an ice-pack yourself.

Just got back from watching it... Phenomenal, Extraordinary and Inspiring. The film without a doubt lived up to its expectations. Tom Hardy and Nick Nolte definitely stole the show. Their performances were remarkable, in every sense of the word. They made the audience give a damn about the dysfunctional relationship.

[BLACKOUT]I mean, the scene in the hotel room where Nolte's character falls off the wagon was incredibly emotional and moving. The audience began to tear up and cry the moment when Hardy's character finally showed some humanity towards his broken father.[/BLACKOUT]

The fight scenes were alittle unorthodox but they were believable and beautifully captured. No over-the-top BS from Kung Fu flicks, or other MMA films. A ground game was present and it was treated with respect from the Guard position to the Full Mount (kinda disappointed I didn't see a single Sweep but it's not the end of the world). The takedowns were vicious and explosive, the submissions and the striking were fairly decent and passable. A bit too repetitive with the knees and hooks (shame they didn't utilize enough legkicks and elbow strikes) but you barely notice the redundancy. I absolutely loved the comparision (and clash) in styles and stances with Edgerton's and Hardy's characters as well.

Overall, this film was one of the best of 2011. There's a very good chance I might catch this movie one or two more times before it leaves theaters and heads for a DVD format. I grade the film a 9.3 out 10.

For those interested in what Tom Hardy has to bring to the table when regarding Bane for next Summer, watch the film. The actor leaves you stunned and speechless.

Yeah. People who don't think Hardy will nail Bane after seeing this film are just kidding themselves.

Pretty much.

Those looks that he gave his brother in the final fight! I mean whoa were they intimidating or what?

Hardy has such emotive eyes that they work to a great effect.

Seriously, Hardy was literally a caged animal in this film. He was beyond intimidating!

Hardy has always been great at playing unhinged characters. Check out "The Take" if you haven't seen it yet.

Look forward to catching this in the cinema.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but this is probably the only thing that dampens my excitement for the movie. After seeing the trailers and reviews about how emotional both Hardy and Edgerton are, I was kind of hoping that the final fight would be a complete mystery as to who could win.

I'm fine with most sports movie cliches, but I'm kind of growing tired of always knowing the outcome of the final game/fight.

No matter though. I'm still pumped to see this movie.

After seeing Miracle, Tumbleweeds and what I've seen of this, I'd actually be interested in seeing O'Connor take on a superhero flick.

Shame he doesn't direct enough films. He'd be perfect for the Green Lantern sequel.

The general audience can't handle a film with an unexpected ending. The good guy or underdog or hero always has to win in their eyes, or the film falls flat, believe it or not.

That being said, the build up and climax of the film did have a hint of unconventional tactics. Even with Hardy's character fronting to be stoic, detached, cold, cruel and imposing, you find a few moments where you realize he's the complete opposite. [BLACKOUT]He's simply a brooding and emotional individual who takes out years of frustration on those who get in his way of delivering a promise.[/BLACKOUT] By the time you witness those unique moments, you can't help but root for him.

So, in reality, the general audience was left cheering for both the brothers. You couldn't choose for who to support. Both Hardy's and Edgerton's characters had a stake in the tournament, and the director made you hate yourself for even considering to pick a side.

he was on the shortlist for wolverine so maybe he has interest

SPOILERS

Just got back from it, superb movie, really enjoyed it. Didn't even notice Kurt Angle was in it.

This was Tom Hardy's movie. I know Joel's character was the one you're supposed to root for, and he wears the white hat but at the end of the day I was rooting for Tommy and his one arm to somehow win it.
