Was the class 1-5 mutant stuff ever in the comic books?

So is it true that Jean could have done ANYTHING to that gun that Magneto was floating up in the movie in the forest scene? I mean that's limitless right?

Well yeah. She could shift its atoms and turn it into a brick if she wanted to. Imagine this. Her telekinesis can move things like books and buildings. But its so powerfull it can move molecules and atoms( the stuff that everything is made out of).

Damn PhoenixIsTheOne! Your on every thread about Phoenix!lol

Oh!! We aren't suppose to do that? It's just that all teh phoenix threads I go to is sooo fuc*in boring. More boring than Everybody Loves Raymond!!

How is Iceman more powerful than Storm. She can do his powers and more!!!! And how is he the same level as Pheonix when she can destroy people in seconds, and galaxies in seconds???? What can he do?????????But make ice???

Okay now I SEE WHy. But Isn't Storm also a threat?? She can make storms tornados and all that all over the world. Why is she low in the level scale????

I've been wondering the same thing. But iceman is stronger than you think...

Well she hasn't been 'confirmed' as an omega level mutant but that doesn't mean she is not a threat.

And it also doesn't mean that she isn't since it hasn't been confirmed. Will they be telling anymore omega's?

The whole omega thing isin't even taken into acount that much in the comics, its something that the fans go crazy over.

Omega means you have unlimited potential. Like Cyclops can shoot beams out of his eyes, thats it. He is an alpha mutant because he has limits, just beams coming out of his eyes. Iceman and others are Omegas because they have unlimted potential of what they can do. They are immortal beings. Their powers can do almost anything, pretty much.

Not exactly. Some mutants have powers that they'll probably never realize, and really it's up to the writers to say just how powerful a mutant is. Take Gambit for example: on the surface, he can charge inanimate objects. But for some reason I think at one time he was an omega level empath. Same with the Summers brothers. I'm not entirely up-to-date, as I think Vulcan was already confirmed as an omega, but Scott and Havoc's ultimate potential are energy manipulators (kinetic for Scott, plasma for Alex) who may or may not one day gain complete mastery over their powers and channel it in an unlimited number of ways from every part of their body. Doesn't mean they are omegas though, just like Scarlet Witch, Storm, Magneto and Xavier aren't.

But really, this omega/alpha/gamma crap is really redundant. You can have alphas that are more powerful than omegas (very powerful alphas like Xavier and Magneto come to mind), so long as the omegas aren't reaching their potential.

Not exactly... if Iceman is Omega because he can muster the forces of water and ice to their maximum extent, wouldn't that make anyone else who has the maximum control over their power an Omega level mutant as well? If Iceman is considered Omega, why isn't Storm or Magneto? They seem to have utter control over the extent of their powers and then some...

I think the best answer is, we didn't make these charecters so whatever Marvel wants to say goes. Even if it seems stupid or way off that's how they made it.

I just don't understand how Iceman can be an Omega and Storm and Magneto can't, when he only has control over one element... Storm can summon many, and Magneto can control his powers way beyond the level of simple magnetism.

Vulcan is the most powerful Omega...all other Omegas bow before him...and what not...

Because Marvel made it that way, so far.

Well, I think it's not very out of the ordinary to assume that both Storm and Magneto could cripple Iceman in a fight. Marvel are so strange, but the topics are certainly worth debating over...

don't sell iceman short, he can hold his own against storm and magneto...but vulcan take down all

for the iceman storm magneto debate look at it like this.. from what i gather reading the info in the iceman thread by profezzor x... he has such control over water elements that he could freeze **** instantly or do something else he damn well pleases....while storm and magneto cant do it on that level as quick as far as i know i may be wrong..who knows... meaning he could freeze sumtin like storm or magnetos blood before they could do squat

and again its all up to marvel....

If Omega means unlimited potential... I still don't know what Storm's limits are..to what extent? I still don't know what she can and cannot do... If making the world Ice Age all over again still doesn't make her Omega... hmm I don't know...I'll be damned.:(

You're so right, considering we know barley anything about the extents of his powers!

You're not serious are you? The very definition of BEING an omega mutant is that NOBODY knows the true extent of your powers, cause the potential is LIMITLESS or UNDEFINED or INFINITE or INCOMPREHENSIBLE.

Another reason why I hate such discussions, is that it usually brings the fanboy out of most people, leading to ridiculous statements such as "All Omegas bow down to Vulcan."
