They were at ours too! We kept running into Bob all day and he was so funny, we got into this whole waving game. We got our picture with Norman Reedus (this was my sister’s b’day present from me) - I heard he gave up his breaks all day and stayed late to make sure everyone got their photos. He couldn’t have been sweeter.

I adore this cast. They are so much fun. I hated the cliffhanger, but anyone who wants to throw that outrage at them is just ridiculous.
You met Reedus? Aw I'm jealous! He was supposed to be at the one I went to. It was my birthday weekend so some friends surprised me with tickets for the meet and greet with him, but he had to cancel at the last minute. Found out both Jon Bernthal and I were celebrating birthdays that day, so that was neat.

at that point I don't think it makes a difference since the spoiler's already been said.

I hadnt read it till you posted it. Im just saying, just bc you saw a spoiler, doesnt mean you should continue it for those that come behind you that didnt, especially if you initially think its something that should be tagged

[blackout]ah man you could've spoiler tagged some of that, I didn't know Negan kills Spencer :([/blackout]

Sorry about that. I thought it would be ok since I was talking about the comics, not the show. A lot of what happens in the comics in regards to characters deaths doesn't happen in the show. People who are dead in the show are still alive in the comics (Sophia, Andrea etc), and people who are alive in the show are long dead in the comic (Carol, Morgan etc).

Not to mention how most characters have died is very different to the comics. Dale didn't die by getting bitten by a walker like in the show. He was the one whom the cannibals ate. He had Bob's fate. Tyreese didn't get bitten by a walker either. The Governor cut his head off. Hershel got his death scene in the show.

So I wouldn't worry too much about knowing that. Odds are it won't happen. But sorry in advance in case it does.

But anyways yeah, as a person Gov was probably even more so a sociopath but they're both pretty effing evil. And in the comics, this scene was given in its full effect to the viewer. But the show's version just wanted to play a cheap trick. Smh :down

The show humanized The Guv a bit more with the whole surrogate family he made for himself in S4, but ultimately he was still a total scumbag who wanted to take everything from Rick and his group, and was willing to kill them all to get it.

I can't ever imagine The Governor being reasoned with, but Negan I could totally imagine coming to some sort of arrangement with him. He is actually reasonable at times in the comic. He so fascinating in that regard. He is capable of being so evil, but he can be reasonable and he does have some morals.

I really hope they show this in S7. It will help separate him as a different breed of villain to The Guv.

Yeah, that's the crazy thing about. He's strangely likable. He's a total psychopath...but I spend as much time laughing over stuff he says or does in the comics as I do being terrified and repulsed by him.

His relationship with Carl is interesting. Whenever Rick sees Carl, the first thing he sees is his son, despite anything else that's happen. That's no one's fault, he's Carl's father, after all. But Negan really sees the more savage side of Carl, one that's grown out of him being this child of an apocalypse. He's almost better equipped to deal with that side of him, maybe even better than his own father does.

Yeah it's like he recognized that in Carl from the get-go when he calls him a little future serial killer, which made me laugh.

No, I'm not the one who posted it. If you took it upon yourself to read it after I quoted it, that's on you.

so I'm not even the one who posted the spoiler, but somehow you want to put the blame on me for it.

It's all good, I don't care about the character on the show that much but it's still a part of this story in its future that I didn't know about.

Anyways, the more I think about it, the less interested I am in watching season 7, especially if the showrunners are going to continue pulling shenanigans like this. for the purpose of this topic though, yes, i definitely think they're going to bring more layers to negan, he may not be exactly like he is in the comics but jeffrey dean morgan will give hella delivery.

No, i didnt read his original quote bc he at least put a warning that he was going to discuss the comics, so I stopped right there. You then went on to repeat the spoiler in the first sentence of your message and that was outside the original quote. Thats on you. Whatever as whats done is done. I was just trying to help you out bc there are people that actually get really sensitive about this stuff. I dont care about TWD like that. Its just common sense. If you think something is a spoiler that should be tagged, dont go reposting it without a tag. It doesnt make sense to get upset about something that you inadvertently end up contributing to and have no regard for others who may come behind you and end up upset as you were initially

I didn't know he was going to talk about Negan passed the point of what's up to the tv show and talk about vital parts of the comics.

You're right, that is on me - truth be told I shouldn't have complained in the first place because I put a spoiler tag in the thread title, indicating that spoilers are fair game in here

Yeah, we lucked out on that one. He was so nice. It was my sister's birthday present, and she never gets to go to these things. As soon as it was our turn for the photo, he threw his arm around her and said "How you doin' sweetie?" My sister lit up, it was so worth all the madness of that line to get there.

That's so cool you met Jon Bernthal! He is so awesome.

I saw the cast at PaleyFest just before season 5 started. They had a Q&A and somehow Reedus ended up with the microphone and was wandering through the crowd like Oprah taking the questions. He liked my friend's question so much he hugged her. Then he had to sit on the stairs to answer it, and Andy shouted "Are you going to sing a song?!" :funny:

After that question, Lauren Cohan grabbed the mike away from him and took over because she and Danai both noticed he was only asking questions from ladies. :oldrazz:

The cliffhanger didn't really bother me all that much. The episode overall was too well written, too well acted, and too well directed to be written off as a failure because of one misguided creative decision. Those last 15 minutes were some of the most nerve-wracking television moments of my entire life. Having said that, I can understand the fans' frustrations; the emotional impact will be compromised, if not entirely lost. They had an opportunity to seize an iconic television moment, to devastate people and leave them emotionally stunned long after the episode was over. But instead they chose the ratings grab. It happens. It should in no way take away from JD Morgan's performance or the otherwise brilliance of that episode. I'm more excited to see just how unnerving this show is about to become.

It makes me wonder how they'll tackle the scene in the season premier, since we'll know it's coming, and since there won't be any build up to it. The only thing I think would work is to delay the reveal until the end of the episode. Set a few days after, with the characters still in mourning. Then flashback later in the episode to the scene, only this time, showing who died and the aftermath. I think it would be awkward if the first five minutes of the episode are seeing someone's head being bashed in.

How would that even work? People would be able to deduce who it was bc they wouldn't be in the episode until the flashback

The best way to do it is just continue with the rest of the scene from where they left it.

Negan kills (whoever?), Rick swears he’s going to kill him. Negan tells him he knows won’t, because he could let Rick kill him now, and his people will take out the rest of his group and do even worse to Carl. He knows Rick won’t do that, and Rick knows it too. Negan tells them they’ll be at Alexandria in one week, and to be ready when they get there - this is how it works now. He says “Ta-ta!” and drives away, leaving everyone in shock - especially Rick, who just paid a terrible price to realize he’s ****ed.

That (or some variation of that) is where they should have ended the finale. Get the whole ‘who died’ business answered and done with, and emphasize that this was really about what it was supposed to be about: the fall of Rick Grimes.

Next season can pick up where the comic did...

...immediately after, with the dead character still lying in front of them, and one of the characters (Maggie in the comics) beating the crap out of Rick, saying everything was his fault - and Rick letting her do it, because he knows she’s right. Rick saying “Why did you stop??” when she stopped hitting him was so awful. And of course, it amps up the intensity when you see that she stopped because Carl was pointing his gun at her, telling her to leave his dad alone.

It’s not like splitting the scene in half was the worst thing they did. It worked when they split it with the mid-season finale at Alexandria. The episode that followed was one of the best this year. The biggest problem is that they took the focus away from Rick’s fall to a 6-month game of “Who Did We Kill?” that’s just stupid. They’re never going to keep a secret for 6 months.

I can't say it bothered me, to me it was typical Walking Dead cliff hanger crap, like kinda sorta but not really killing off Glenn. This sort of thing has been done enough in comics and books that I've read that I can't say I was all that surprised.

the Glenn bait was annoying too but this cliffhanger just made the season worse. And the scene from the comic book also wasn't a cliffhanger. It showed us who was chosen to be Lucille'd, and then we saw the bludgeoning.

Walking Dead has had its fair share of cliffhangers, like I said season 4, but those cliffhangers ended conclusive enough that the story arc completed. This wasn't one of those times.

I meant comics in general, not this one. I haven't read Walking Dead since they left the prison. :)

This may have even been what completely killed my interest in fear the walking dead. Although I didn't like season 1 that much to begin with

I cannot rest easy knowing how they ended season 6. Season 6 as a whole sucked to me, but the finale was the final straw.

season 6 was just, bad. that glenn bait - the thing about that is, if they ended that episode with glenn falling into the zombie herd and just cut the scene there, it would've been fine. but then they show glenn seemingly getting eaten, ugh...it's almost like the showrunners purposely breaking the fourth wall, playing a game with the viewer trying to get them to question what the eff is going on.

then they have the goddamn nerve to stick a 90 minute morgan flashback episode that nobody was asking for the week right after it. that wasn't a bad episode, but it didn't need to be 90 minutes and it definitely should not have come after the glenn bait.

and the next episode didn't give closure either.

i didn't like how some of the character arcs went either. but the worst thing was the season finale.

That episode sucked. It could have been 45 minutes. There was absolutely no need for it to be as long as it was.

I had decided that if I didn't like the season finale there was a good chance of me not even bothering to watch next season.
I hate to walk away from a show that I used to love so much but this last season was mostly lame.
The Glenn nonsense was the start of it all. I think that was when I really just stopped caring and just stuck around hoping it would get better.
Then this silly crisis of conscience they suddenly decided Carol had to go through. Then stretching out episodes with boring nonsense, Dragging out the appearance of Neegan until the last few minutes of the show when the mid season cliffhanger should have been him
instead of dragging it out for so long.......And then the second half of the season should have been them dealing with the death of Neegan's victim and coming to terms with the fact that Neegan & the Saviors aren't going any where.

I almost wonder if they did the cliff hanger the way they did because they're desperate for viewers to come back next season.\
Not realizing that if you have a good show the viewers will be back in droves. Just tell us when.
Resorting to the way the season ended smacks of desperation.
And then this pathetic season finale.

I agree, in that this show had several issues which topped off with the finale.

Every time I think about it, I'm not trying to wonder who it was, I'm just thinking about how horrible it was that they didn't reveal it. My interest for the season 7 premier drops the more it'd on my mind.

Virtually everything I have seen from everyone but the people involved agreed the finale was a poor way to end the season.

I don't watch the show every weak. I hate these long as breaks between the seasons so I spread out the show though out the year and I have the patience to do so. The price to do so is that you might get spoiled. So personally I didn't mind it because at least I wasn't spoiled. I was prepared for an ending like that so it didn't come as a shock to me. It will be strange though to start the next season with a major character dying.

itll be more than strange. It'll be anticlimactic considering the shock value that killed itself at literally the last few seconds of the last season that supposedly is supposed to revitalize and have value again once the next season starts.
