While I was reading through a bunch of posts here, i noticed something.
Let's say Leech is 11 years old.
Let's say they found him at 10 years old.
For 10 years they were trying to find a "cure" for "mutantism"
Between the time that Worthington Labs found Leech, and the time it took to make the cure, they had to test it on sombody to make sure it worked.
So, was there more Illegal Mutant Experimentation going on?

Probably, yes.

They wouldn't publicly announce the cure if they were unsure about it. I'm sure they've tried experimenting it on other mutants.

since the government knew about the boy leech, i'm pretty sure that waren worthington 2 had a lot of legal work to pass on in order to get leech on his team...

besides, he never seemed to treat leech badly at all and was just using him for fresh dna samples until they could workout how to replicae his dna's abilities on their own.

He wasn't evil in the least, ht was a liberator allowing for people to have a choice over their lives, no more evil than a cosmetic doctor.

driven yes, probably unaware of his rammifications of his work, no doubt, lacking in a proper bound with his child, you bet.

evil, nah...

Before Quill, Arclight and Psylocke tried to kill him, I actually felt sorry for Worthington Sr. I don't think he's evil. He is just one of those who believe that they were doing the right thing like Kavita Rao.

I liked how angel saves him near the end and you can see it in his face how he finally realises that his son's mutant albilities isn't the terrible disease as he orignally believed it to be.

but we don't know he ever has thought of it that way

Bathroom scene, WW2 says to his son "Oh God, not you". He had to have seen mutantcy in a negative way.

Is that what he said? Thanks!

I've been trying to figure out what he said. I just assumed that he said "I knew it" or something. Makes much sense now. :)

No problem.

It could also be that his mutant power didn't manifest (like most don't) until adolescence. Perhaps if the writers had thought of developing the character we wouldn't have such questions.

hmmm, i would try and swindle out of this but i'll take my slice of humble pie...

i take it he does look down on mutants.

No, he was changed into Bolivar Trask's character, thanx to Ratner not caring about CB continuity.
