Chapter Eleven is now my favorite chapter in the Motion Comic. Why? That's because there are no lines by women in it. Tom Stechschulte is pretty good for a guy who has to do all the lines, but you can totally tell he is a white man. Every time he tries to be a woman or minority, it becomes either unintentionally funny or ear piercingly bad.

I just got the Watchmen: The Complete Motion Comic on DVD. I work at a newspaper and my friend the entertainment editor gets DVDs almost a month in advance for review. He knows how much of a fan I am of the comic, so he gave me the DVD. I am going to watch the final episode tonight.

Hmmm...

Not a big fan of pirating. Really, you have less than a week before it comes out on iTunes...

I'll think about it.

I do want to say, the opening of Chapter XII is haunting. It feels like it lasts 5 minutes, slowly moving through the carnage, silent except for a constant chime of a clock. I usually flip quickly through those pages in the book, but in the motion comic, it forces you to watch it for a long, long time. I love it.

Last Episode came out today....

I rate the whole thing a 9/10 front to end.

Really cool idea to do this, I hope Marvel catches on and does this as well...a great new way to read comics.

I just watched the last chapter. Loved it. The MOTION COMIC, on the whole, is just fantastic.

But I do have to say that after watching the last chapter in MOTION COMIC format, a lot of Snyder's alterations to the finale (not necessarily the lack of squid, but other things, like Dr. Manhattan's manner of exit and Nite Owl coming back to beat up Ozymandias) make sense to me. The finale is great on the page (practically perfect, really), but as a kind of cinematic venture, I think some extra punch is needed. I'm glad to see Snyder sensed that, too.
