I've never heard of this comic before but if they're keeping the characters name the same then yeah, they're gonne screw this up. Actually when I read the title of this thread I thought they were casting Selena Gomez as Wolverine's daughter (what do they call her? Weapon 23 or something?).

Changing the character's race doesn't bother you, I take it. In any of the comic movies.

She is a clone, but for some reason it didn't work with the Y chromasome. So she is his daughter and she isn't, at least that's how I see it.

Yeah, i got to admit the casting choice does seem a little racist. I'm never one to drop racism into anything but regardless of it being a well known comic or not, If the main character is Asian then get the right person to play him. That's my opinion....

Could be worse. They could be putting blackface make up on white actors and having them play demeaning African American roles (jive talking street hustlers, etc, blaxploitation type crap).

this is happening a lot... I just don't see how some can't see it as offensive,

... the funny thing is I wouldn't mind if the guy could pass for an asian... sorta like Joseph Gordon-Levitt, but he's the furthest thing from it and the character's last name Zhou, lol

Maybe they're going to change the story of his origin, and he'll be a white kid adopted by a Chinese family and thus has a Chinese name.
