TMNT has finished out of the top five, this past weekend now my prediction was TMNT would drop maybe another spot with Grindhouse basically kicking everyone out of the way. I was wrong in two counts Grindhouse only made 11 million and TMNT didn't crack the top five. I still say neither Blades of Glory and Meet the Robertson are better than TMNT the problem was Warner Bros. didn't promote the movie well, when TMNT knocked 300 out of first place I didn't see an ad saying TMNT is the number one movie in the country until what Thursday night before Robot Chicken started. Granted if Warner Bros. did promote the holy hell out of the movie it's not a locked bet that TMNT would slap around Blades or Meet the Robertson but it would be around the top four.

And the kicker again with the critics Richard Roper had another trip on hypocrisy road all right during his review of Meet the Robertson, he says the story didn't make any sense but it redeem it self at the end. So let me get this right the movie story sucked for 99% of the movie yet because of the ending you managed to give it a thumbs up.

He also gave Grindhouse and Blades of Glory both thumbs up, citing reasons that he gave TMNT a thumbs down for.

WB Sucks cause the movie's dropped, there's very few ads now, there was NO promotion AT theatres here in SoCal, at least my handful of local screens. And they wanna see 100mill for a sequel! :(

WB did not expect TMNT to succeed, so naturally, they would set it up to fail. The director has only 34 million to make the movie. The movie is scheduled to open in the midst of heavy competition. The movie receives some of the s**ttiest promotion I've seen for an animated film since Hoodwinked. I see no posters. I see no ads except a few days before the release date. After opening weekend, NADA. And I have the impression that most people on my campus still have no idea that there was a TMNT movie in theaters. I only knew b/c I read the Hype regularly (and b/c I'm a TMNT fan again b/c of the 2k3 - pre fast forward - cartoon). My friends were only aware/interested -- all who heard from me went to see the movie and really enjoyed the movie. They only knew b/c I, singular, TOLD THEM there was a new TMNT movie.

And, to top things off, as Buslady mentions, the s**tf**kers want 100mil in the f**king domestic box office for a sequel.

That says to me that WB was trying pretty overtly to construct an unnecessary coffin for TMNT. :whatever:

Superman Returns promotion was also crappy the only ads I really saw before it came out was those damn Air Head candy ads and those ads had the wrong opening date. As for TMNT promotion I didn't see any ad blitz the only ads I seen promoting the movie was those Air Head ads and the only reasons I knew TMNT was coming out when I was watching Attack of the Show when they was at comic con and checking up news on Supe hype then reading about it on the TMNT/Mirage studio site. I'll tell ya if Sony, New Line or heck a lesser movie studio had the rights to TMNT and it surprised people by doing what it did in it's first weekend you see posters, ads screaming TMNT IS THE NUMBER ONE FRICKIN MOVIE IN THE COUNTRY. But no TMNT has to hope for word of mouth and DVD sales to boast its chances for a sequel which it earns in my opinion. And this stance from WB for 100 million is a joke since we all know about the piss poor job of promotion they did. That's truly F'ed up

For the last time Superman was everywhere for atleast a 3 months before it's release! I couldn't get away from the damn thing, nobody could. Just walk into any grocery store and bam SR is on a ceralbox or candy box.

WB could have shoved TMNT up everyone's ass for 100 years and the tired ass movie still would have failed to make a huge impact. The Turtles are an 80's fad thats been over for years. Fox and Sony couldn't have saved the movie from not making a whole lot of cash.

The days of the Turtles having big boxoffice are over I say put them damn mutants out to pasture.

What in the hell are you talking about? WB didn't tell the companies that would doing products that promote the movie the date was change you saw Air Heads ,those battery and those candy and cereal boxes saying go see Superman Returns on June 30th, then they drop the ball with EA when they held back the movie game tie in for four months after the movie opened. As for TMNT yeah they're just a fad nevermind there are fan sites, blogs and that TMNT cartoon series that been on the air for five going on six years.

Definitely NOT just a fad. The TMNT have been alive and well in one incarnation or another since the early 80's (IT DID NOT START AND END WITH THE OLD TOON)

It's been revived quite a bit by the 2k3 series, infact. TMNT dead? No....check the Technodrome Forums. They are alive and well.

Wholeheartedly agreed.

Oh, and pretty cool fanfics, Shadow.

I don't think they intended it to be in theaters long, so they didn't promote it well.

I mean, come on! We learned a little over a week after the movie came out that the dvd was coming out in June or July!

So, what makes them think they'd get 100 mill from it if they poorly promoted it and already announced an early set date for the dvd release?

www.Ninjaturtles.com had the DVD release date listed a week before the film came out actually lol

What????? The DVD is coming out in either June or July? The dudes over at Mirage should see could they hook up with another movie studio if they opt for a sequel because Warner Bros. did a piss poor job promoting and helping the movie to stay afloat.

The bright side is I could pick it up and watch this summer with the other three movies.

Movies don't always find their audience in their original theatrical run. This is nothing new.

Why the hell would WB want a 100 million domestic to make a sequel? That's a gigantic profit margin. Certainly much bigger than BB.

50-55 million is fine for a TMNT. It was made for 35 million, the TMNT aren't as...at the forefront of culture as they were in the early nineties. It was a fun, little film. I really can't understand why WB would have any problem with it making 55 million.
